As far as I know, there aren't multiple versions of the WIi. Nor are there any on the way either.

There are different firmware versions of the Wii. If you want to get really technical, then I could also mention the later Wiis that included silicone sleeves for the remote and nunchuk (it only signifies how late in the Wii's life you got the system).

No, all Wii games (including future ones) should work on your system regardless of when you got it.

That depends. Nintendo has released, if I remember correctly, three (maybe there are more) different versions of the Wii, but the only difference is that each has been slightly modified to prevent the installation certain hardware piracy devices. But they are still the same Wiis and regular folks should not see a single difference.

I know eventually they're to release multiple color scheme wiis like the DS... or at least in Japan but I hope they carry over that here in NA as well.

They better not do something like with the 360 where you have 10 variations each with different hardware, that would suck.

I will have to get the article but my younger brother confirmed that Nintendo is developing a HD Wii, set out for the end of 2010. That is all I have heard about it.

Nintendo wouldn't do anything like that if they are tying to attract casual players.
