I thought it was really good but something about it left me wanting more towards the end. Maybe the story or I expected more interesting places to visit. The beggining is great but I was underwhelmed at the end. I thought FF6 was better. Oh and the battle system at first is really well executed in fights but later on not so much imo.
sounds great.. it is reminiscent of ff1.. is it connected to ff at all? i found the queen and just trying to level up as well.. i like the old style to it.. will write about this on my gaming site.. i write for 2 gaming websites..
Chrono Trigger is my second favourite video game of all time. It truly is one of those games that deserves ALL the praise it receives. From top to bottom the game is simply magnificent. Wonderful story. Likeable and believable characters. Great world. Fantastic atmosphere. Masterful music. Words can't really describe how much I adore it.

It was developed my most of the team that made the classic Final Fantasy games for the SNES, but it's notably a collaboration between Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of Final Fantasy, and Yuji Horii, creator of Dragon Quest. As a result it is the perfect mix between the two franchises.
I played it in 2009 and was blown away. I've gotten all 15 endings on the DS version. So, yeah, it's one of my favorite games. Absolutely fantastic in just about every sense. Plus, dat soundtrack.
It is a game on my Amazon wish list to get for my 3DS. Video I have watched has me excited to play it.
never heard of Chrono Cross.. is there a series of these? oh great.. thought it was similar to Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. Recently got a Vita so hope I can play some classic stuff on that as well!
@pikafan1990: As I understand it, Chrono Cross is the only other Chrono game, and it's vaguely connected to Trigger.
Why haven't they rereleased it? I'd pick it up in a heartbeat if it does half the things right that Trigger did.

I think it does just as much right as Trigger, but it doesn't different things right.
For instance, Trigger has much better characters and character development and it tells it story much more crisply even if think Cross actually has the more interesting ideas. It also is more immediately fun.
Cross has the deeper, more innovative battle system and has an exotic visual presentation that makes Trigger's visuals look kind of plain by comparison.
Their soundtracks are both amazing, but I think Chrono Cross's is superior because the music sounds less "gamey". Along with Final Fantasy X, I'd say Chrono Cross has the best music I've ever heard in a game.
The key to enjoying Chrono Cross is to treat as a entirely separate game from Chrono Trigger. Besides some Trigger references, enemies on screen rather than random encounters, and the "small" world map, it really doesn't bear any similarity to Trigger.
thanks.. will have to look that one up too.. i like the retro rpg element of chrono trigger.. i like games like that.. got a ps vita and not sure which ff to play.. someone mentioned ff6 is that on the vita?
@pikafan1990: I think you can get it for the PSP through the PSN, not sure for the PS Vita, but you should check.
@pikafan1990: One of the greatest games i've played in my life
This.
Played it on the SNES, Nintendo DS and also non legal ways.
One of the greatest games, and greatest RPG of all time. Maybe it is not THAT good today, but back in the day it was the very best for me.

PSP games that are bought through download will play on the Vita as well.
My favorite SNES game, my favorite RPG game and my 2nd. favorite game of all time (behind OoT) so yeah, i think i like that game.

Chrono Cross was a PS1 game, so it's not available on Nintendo's eshop. You can download it for the PS3, the PSP, or the Vita, though.
