Okay so, I have been borrowing my friend's Wii before Christmas. Then I got mine my own, so my friend wants his wii back but i got some data off the wii i need real badly. I bought Call of Duty 5 and i been playing it on his wii since all my data for my profile is on it. I got a SD card and tried to copy the game file, but it just said," file cannot be copy." So now i am mad that now im thinking that im going to have to start all over back up to 2nd prestige. Same deal with my Super Smash Bros Brawl. I need help please

What hard drive? There is no way of transfering that data at all, so you just have to do it all over again.

About the only thing that can be done.

Indeed. And I wish they would do something about this problem. I only know of one game with Wi-Fi capabilities that can be copied to an SD card and this is Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3. It leaves the Wi-Fi data on the system, but copies everything else.

Probably because it doesn't use friend codes. Friend codes are tied to a particular system, so that data can't be copied because it has that particular Friend Code within that data.

I have not tried saving to the SD card, but I do know that you can save them to a WiiMote and take them to other consoles. I did this with my Miis after they got a Wii at my Mom's place, just took the Miis I wanted and dropped them onto my Wiimote and took my Wiimote to my Mom's.

I wonder if you could use a GC data stick to save Wii data?

Grab your Mii (hold A and B over your Mii) and drag it to the left side of the screen, the menu will appear with the option to drop your Mii into the Wiimote.

No option for that so far.

Yeah friend code games won't transfer like someone said. My wii broke and I saved all my games to SD cards, but of course Mario Kart and Smash bros and other friend code games won't transfer so I had to rebeat them all again, so I know the pain of that. Mii's will transfer by remote (up to 10 per remote) or online. Although the only problem with that is if you transfer a Mii to a system that it wasn't made on you can't edit it. So if you transfer your families Miis to your friends Wii and then switched the Wii's and someone in your family wanted to alter a Mii they would have to do it on the original Wii and then retransfer.

What really bugs me about not being able to save the games is that my Wii crashed, for the second time. The first time Nintendo replaced the disk drive, gratis of course as it was under warranty. Now 1 year later the disk drive is failing again. So Nintendo sent me a new Wii (i have to send back the dying one) and I cannot save Mario Kart, Brawl, city folk or any other game that is WIFI. Well, I guess i just have to look at it like getting new games for nothing. Least I won't be bored this summer :(
