can the blue light burn out?

ok so last night i was sleeping. then i woke up at 10 pm to find my wii light on(because the votes channel). has anyone ever got a message at the middle of the night turning the blue light on the whole night? can the light burn out?

Umm. No...LED's cant burnout. They are basicall a miniature circuit board. So, if anything, after thousands and thousands of hours of it staying on, it might give out, but that is very very very unlikely.

I just hope that in future firmware updates there will be an option to leave the thing on. It looks really cool.

lol thanks. i was just afraid that it would burn after a whole night. thats probably why nintendo didnt put a message light timer to turn it off in, say 1 hour by itself.

agreed. it does look cool. i just want it on during gameplay and when i get messages. not ALL the time

Nintendo always sends these messages during the night, and I wake up at mid night for some reason n the bright light could be seen just by looking at the wall. U will see a blue wall, n it keeps me up for a while, but it still looks wicked. I doubt it will burn out unless u bust it.

No. Some people wish it would though.

also u might wanna check the light options on the wii menu.. cuz even if its off, the light should come on when u get a message.

Wii Menu >> Wii icon at the bottom left >> Wii settings >> WiiConnect24 on page 2 >> Slot Illumination >> Choose bright or dim

I think that WiiConnect24 and Standby Connection have to be on though so check those too before u go to Slot Illumination.
