Hi

I recently bought a 3DS XL, yesterday to be precise. However, I have noticed something. The SD Card slot isnt flush with the system, so is this normal? If not, I`m planning to replace via EB Games, for a free replacement (might want to change my colour of the 3DS too, white gets dirty like crazy).

Oh, by the way, these are some examples of what I mean:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UGc3rxYwA0vFWP8Mb6jktxMJLikdyRLusd7iWdnACoc/edit

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TT4MzFAN9ZDtDy5cIAO2xMNeqAvSSMNnPx64DhqHtnw/edit

Just to note, while with a bit of pressure, I can get it reasonably flush, it is extremely easy to open. A slide with your thumb will nearly open the slot entirely.

Not mine; photos off the internet (comparing)

Those two look flush with the system.

Can someone confirm if this is normal?

I have a dsi, which closes fine. I'm either not closing it properly or its a defect.

@flyingpieguy: yeah man i think yours is a little messed up, i got an XL and mine looks exactly like http://i50.tinypic.com/biqtew.jpg. Yours does look like its loose or somethin

I just pulled mine out and when i put it back in it kinda of clicks into place

Idk if this matters but when you click the SD card out it has a little lock switch on it, mine is set to locked and i havent changed it since i got it so that might b an issue, idk tho

@flyingpieguy: Mine is straight with the rest of the systems lines, so yes I'd say yours is slightly off. Question is though, is it hurting anything or just the cover part is a little crooked.

The cover isn`t flush, though the back plate battery cover can be slightly clipped off too (though, I think thats normal as its only covered by two screws)>

Flush usually means like wealthy, or I've heard it to describe someone's face or cleaning...but I don't understand it in this context.

Looking at the pictures, I think that outer casing does look loose.

I would suggest you go to a store that has plenty of used models and look at those to compare. I don't have the XL so I can't say, but I do have a regular 3DS and it's fine.
