what settings are you playing or will play bayo1 and bayo2?

bayo1 options are very easy, easy, normal

bayo2 options are 1st climax, 2nd climax, 3rd climax

im thinking of doing easy on bayo1 and breeze through it like a god..or witch. then play bayo2 on 3rd climax to get that deep experience.

Why is it very easy, easy, normal? What a weird scale.

I always play "normal" because to me, this is how the game is "intended" to be played by the developers. So in B1, I guess I'll play "Normal" and in B2, normally I'd choose 2nd Climax if I hadn't known about B1's scale. But it looks like 3rd Climax might be "Normal". Hmm, a minor dilemma awaits (the game is currently in the mail). Any suggestions on what is supposed to be the "Normal" setting for B2?

@trugs26: I tweeted Hashimoto about it :p

2nd climax feels like it could be normal mode though.

I'm playing on 2nd and I've only died twice, once for failing a QTE and once for accidentally keeping gaze on during a boss fight. This may be because I played the hell out of Bayonetta 1 (over 90 hours)

@Chozofication: @trugs26: The description for 2nd Climax makes it sound like it's the Normal mode ("A mode for players familiar with action games"), but I had a much easier time in 2nd Climax than Normal difficulty in Bayonetta 1. I don't know if I just got insanely better at the combat after getting my ass totally beaten down and getting countless Stone trophies in Bayo1, but getting Gold in almost every chapter in Bayo2 on my first try seems like a big jump. I did notice that Bayo2 is a lot more generous than Bayo1 because there's no health penalty for falling off a platform and you're given more rewards. In comparison with Bayo1, I had more health, magic, lollipops and less deaths by the end of Bayo2. Hell, the only death I had in Bayo2 was an unexpected OHKO near the end of the game whereas I started dying 3-5 times per chapter by Chapter 2 in Bayo1. Overall, Bayo1's Normal mode did not show mercy from the start of the game whereas Bayo2's 2nd Climax gradually became difficult, but not as frustratingly difficult as Bayo1's Normal.

I'm playing through Bayonetta now on easy. I thought about switching up to normal but I think I will stick with easy for my first playthrough.

@ANIMEguy10034: Yep, you're right on point there.

I wonder how 3rd climax compares with bayo's normal mode.

I'm playing through on normal (2nd Climax) difficulty, buying stuff from the shop like costumes, techniques, accessories, and earning platinum medals on stages, then when I need a new difficulty I'll attempt 3rd Climax. I haven't tried 3rd Climax but I think it might be locked until the game is beaten on normal.

I remember the first Bayonetta on hard they actually switched up the types of enemies that spawned during battles to make it more interesting, helped the game feel fresh when attempting the hard difficulty. Hopefully beating 3rd Climax opens an even harder difficulty, the first game had that, I think I remember witch time is disabled or at least the slow motion aspect of it.

@lamprey263: Beating 3rd Climax unlocks the Infinite Climax. Witch Time was not disabled. It's more damage from enemies, less damage to enemies, more enemies spawning, and more powerful enemies spawning than usual. Enemies are overall far more aggressive and quicker, in the case of human bosses they evade 99% of the stuff you throw at them if you're not in Witch Time.

Playing as Jeanne makes it a lot more similar to Bayo1's final difficulty

@Chozofication: From my recent experience, 3rd Climax is about the same Bayo1's Normal. Maybe a bit tougher, but it's hard to say if I'm just getting better at this since I've been marathoning both games all weekend. It shows a bit of mercy at the beginning, but you get brutally beaten throughout the middle and until the end.

-------

I went back to 2nd Climax to finish some Witch Trials, and the final ones are definitely kicking my ass. I fear what they're like in 3rd and Infinite Climax.

I'm playing through the first Bayo for the first time, on Normal difficulty, and I'm dying like nobody's business. But I'm committed to beating it on this difficulty setting in order to be ready to play Bayo 2 on the hardest selectable difficulty setting too.

I don't want to breeze through any of the games, and I need to get my technique down. Started reading a little bit about how to maximize combos and s***, but really I just need to improve my ability to read attacks with all the flashy cool stuff happening on the screen.

@elheber

I went through the same thing... I had an average of 5 deaths per chapter and got Stone Awards everywhere ! Didn't bother me at all, mostly because my deaths were caused by me trying to get a closer at Bayonetta every her hair/clothes dissappears.

2nd Climax does feel a little easier than Bayo 1, I only died once and I haven't used a single item on chapter 11.
