Bundled with bayonetta 2! I'm so happy! And the first game will have lots of extra's like Link, Peach and Samus costumes and weapons. Both games will be released in October.

---

Bayonetta Wii U port took a year and a half to make

Wow, that's crazy. I think we're in for a rock solid 60fps :)

@Chozofication: After reading the thread's name, I thought it was confirmed.

I already have to first one on 360. But I'd gladly buy it again on Wii U...As long as it's NOT over $40.

I can expect and E3 announcement. I can see it now. They give more info on Bayonetta 2, and then surprise reveal that bayonetta 1 is coming to Wii U.

Unfortunately, if they did, I see someone else handling the port and it ending up worse than the PS3 version.

@pikachudude860 I hope so

Well, Hideki Kamiya of Platinum games said the port would be handled in house, if it were made.

An overhaul similar to what Nintendo did with Wind Waker would be excellent. I was looking at screenshots for Bayonetta, and Bayonetta 2 looks miles better.

I think it would be a tough sell.

Wonderful 101 was released as a real retail game only to find out it's audience didn't live on Earth and in reality it's a bargain bin game.

Most of Bayonetta's sales came when it was drastically reduced in price.

Bayonetta 2 isn't enough of a draw to push the needle at all.

Nintendo would have to publish Bayonetta and since they're the ones who see all this data up close it's not promising that they'd see this turning out well.

In order for this to happen Nintendo would have to back Platinum and they haven't shown that they should be backed.

I would love it but I doubt it will happen to be honest with you. maybe if Bayo 2 sells over expectations but yeah probably not.

@Jaysonguy Yeah, but i'm hoping they put it on Wii U not just for sales but to satisfy loyal Nintendo fans more. Which is really the goal for Nintendo as long as Wii U is selling like it is.

It really does. The detail has gotten a significant boost, and the lighting is night and day better. Plus is has v-sync, so none of that nasty tearing that was in the first. Platinum isn't the best at having a locked 60fps in their games, but i'd be shocked if it didn't run smoother than the first too.

A Wii U port would be excellent. It wouldn't even have to be a remaster. But it should be coming out like... now. To get people hyped for Bayo2. Then they could add some special content for players who have a Bayo 1 save.

So how would that happen exactly ? Obviously its not impossible but wouldn't Sega have to be Involved in this process ? They did publish it after all.

Publishing doesn't mean the publishers have the rights to something, it just means they helped with that particular print run. Books change publishers for re-prints all the time.

Nintendo would obviously be the publisher for Bayonetta on Wii U, so it's really up to Nintendo because Platinum games already said they wanted to do it and could do it before Bayo 2 comes out. We'll find out tomorrow..

@Chozofication: Well Chozo, Bayonetta 1 is there! Not a complete overhaul, but it's being included with Bayonetta 2!

Good idea to package it with Bayonetta 2. And the Samus/Link skins will appeal to the hardcore crowd I suppose. Will probably move some sales with the bundle version.

Having it bundled with the sequel kind of worries me. I'm worried that I'll feel fatigue after playing the first one and won't be able to finish the sequel.

You'll want more after the first one, believe me, thats how it works with Bayonetta. Once you begin climaxing, you don't want to stop. ;)

Wonder if they'll fix that little trick with the Durga weapon when fighting Temperantia?

Be very glad, though it has been patched to playable it was inferior to the 360 version. Plus you get the Nintendo costumes. Great deal.

I know I am loving it, I bought my Wii U especially for bayonetta 2 and I had to sell my copy of Bayo 1 last summer when I got sick and had to find a place to live, so this is the best news.

I think that outfit of the impossibly short pink dress was supposed to be for Peach. Either way adding Bayo 1 to this makes this a must have game for action fans. Between this, Hyrule Warriors and Devils 3rd I think Wii U is action packed this holiday season.

And here's some footage of the first game. It's a faithful port made in house at platinum, 60fps and with V-sync this time around which is great.

This is great that Nintendo has managed to include the original Bayonetta with Bayonetta 2. Along with a Nintendo touch up to the first installment.

I think it's important to note regarding the "took 1.5 years to make" issue that there was no clarification of the staff size allocated. Think about it: if just two guys worked on the port, it could easily take 1.5 years. :P

Heh :p

well it was more than 2 anyway. Bee tribe who the port was outsourced to has 5 employee's, but Platinum games also worked on it in house. And the whole thing was supervised by Bayonetta's creator all that time.

It's clear a ton of effort was put into it to make it the definitive version, they ported it from the 360 version with the goal of making it run at a locked 60fps with V-sync (360 ran it at 40-50ish with tons of screen tear). We've seen how sloppy ports are when they're rushed from 360 to Wii U before, so this had to have taken a lot of effort.

Really good to see they added things into the game rather than just a straight 360 port. Really hope it does do well in sales. :)

The amount of effort put into the Nintendo character costumes to make them more than just reskins is very admirable. It's obvious that a lot of love went into this package, and I really hope against the odds that it pays off for them. Unfortunately, only one Platinum games title has ever been terribly successful at retail, and it wasn't Bayonetta. But I'll definitely be picking it up.

We've seen how sloppy ports are when they're rushed from 360 to Wii U before, so this had to have taken a lot of effort.

They actually didn't say anything about Platinum working on it. If anything, the news sources to be believed say it was outsourced to Bee Tribe, and was overseen by Kamiya (which makes sense, the first Bayonetta IS his creation). If Bee Tribe has 5 employees, though, that doesn't mean they were all dedicated to the port job :P

Either way, happy that it's coming, because people were buying it up on their XBox360s and PS3s when Bayonetta 2 was announced, and I was thinking at the time "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO port it over quick, don't lose those sales!", hahaha
