I found my wii last week it only took me a couple days of looking.  I've been trying to get a wiimote for a little over a week and I haven't even came close to getting one.  Are stores still getting shipments in of wiimotes or is there a problem manufacturing them?

I think there's definitely a shortage of Wiimotes. A lot of people are purchasing the Wii with the intention of having fun with a group of buddies. 4 controllers for every Wii = a shortage of Wiimotes pretty quickly!

Yea, there has been a shortage. Look for Wii Play, $10 more tha just the Wiimote but you do get some nice "demo" games.

with the set for a person costing 60 dollars I can't see people really shelling out that much for 4 ppl to play, that's just me though.

Here in Dallas, I went to a walmart and they had like 50 Wiimotes and 10 Classic controllers. People just don't know where to look.

Through a combination of pre-ordering and luck, I had four remotes, two nunchucks and a VC controller at launch (and a Wii too).  It was a good thing too, because I have yet to see a remote for sale, and I've only seen nunchucks and VC controllers for sale at one or two places and that's only within the last week or so.  I still haven't seen a Wii for sale.

I've called everywhere, multiple time a day. When I call the people act like I'm an idiot because they know its hard to get them. I'm just gonna wait and try to get lucky.

Also look in places you wouldn't expect them as much. I went to FYE and they had some there.. I probably should have bought one but didn't have the $40 at the time.

There is no shortage is Wiimotes IMO. Ovbiously if you go to the store and look for them, there not going to be there. I go to sites that provide items to sell and search there. Theres always people selling what you want! i also use ebay:P

They're in the most unlikely places. I found a bunch in my local video store! I only bought one to be fair to other gamers, but I would check places like Blockbuster or small town places. I found I Wii points card in Blockbuster too. Just check the places no one else thinks to.

I don't know but for the past 2 weeks I've found several nunchuk's at Walmart.  I haven't seen them anywhere since launch.  Maybe we are seeing the beginning of the end of the drought.
