How easy is to transfer movies and tv shows to the Ipad

Hi, currently deciding between the Ipad 4th gen or the Sony Experia Z tablet.

I never had Apple products before, alwayls been using Android.

I'm just wondering how easy is to transfer and watch shows and movies to the Ipad?

I know with Android it's a simple procedure as in drag and drop, but is it as simple as that with IOS?
