So i wanted to get a tablet and I was dead set on the nexus, but, it doesn't pack support for extra storage :(

What are some good/similar (if there are any) alternatives to it in the same price range that pack more storage support?

Thats what I have. Love it, but it has some drawbacks. First off, the screen resolution is much lower than the N7. Also, it is running a dual core cpu at 1Ghz. Another thing of concern, I have the 8GB version. Once you get it it only has around 4GB of internal space left after the OS needs, which sucks. But then again, the SD card slot helps greatly. Good things are it does have a Micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB card sizes. Also, mine is the p3113....it is the one that has the IR Blaster, which is awesome if you want a really good quality remote control for your entertainment needs. There are a few models that do NOT have the IR Blaster module (P3100/3110). I would avoid them if possible. Both have some great custom ROMs available, if thats your thing. I tried CM10.1 on mine (JB 4.2) Only thing is that with CM10.1 running, you lose the IR Blaster support. If I could do it again I would get the Nexus 7 with 16-32GB. That Tegra 3 cpu is a beast. But I have not run into anything that my SGT2 can't handle.

Thanks for the answers guys, but there seems to be an app for the nexus called "nexus media importer" and it seems to be just what i need for media storage purposes, maybe that's just what i need.

Galaxy Tab 2 is pretty much the only good, common 7 inch tablet with removable storage. Specs aren't that great at this point however although they still do a decent job for most things people use a tablet for.

Yea, Iooked into those OTG adapters and the NMI app. That seems like the way to go. Don't get me wrong, I love my GT2 7.0", but I would have loved to get a beefier cpu/gpu and also that much nicer IPS display the Nexus 7 has. When I go for my 10 incher I am definatley going to get the Nexus version.
