Depends on what you want.

Android Police is a good place to start.

Android police's every two week round up. There should seriously be a stickied thread about it. Its a fantastic supply of new games, apps, etc.

Things to keep in mind: Check permissions out before downloading anything lower rated. There could be something fishy going on

ya, i always read the review of stuff before i download...all of the reviews because I know there are fake ones. i just downloaded the defender game and it is awesome. would any of you or anyone happen to know if using my phone as a mobile hotspot would drain my monthly data and if reading downloaded books off the android market place eats at my data.

The act of downloading with, yes. In the case of stuff like amazon kindle, the actual syncing will take up data but it will be so minimal it wont really matter much

Keyboard: Swype (not in market, must be downloaded from official website or a third party website if you want a skinned version, just search on Google), Touchpal, or Swiftkey (the former support swiping, the last one doesn't).
Browser: Opera Mobile or Dolphin HD (I recommend full versions over mini because they offer more options and your phone is more than powerful enough to support them)
Music Player: PowerAmp
Music Widget: Phantom Music Control
Notes: Catch Notes, Evernote, or Springpad
Clock/Weather/Battery/etc: Simi Clock
News/Calendar/Weather/etc: Glass Widgets

Best weather app BY FAR is 1Weather. Tweetdeck is in my opinion the best app for Twitter. Onavo is great if you like to track data usage.

Also check out Get Jar before you buy any apps. They have a bunch of premium apps for free (and it's legal!).

Well I'm not sure as to too much I would suggest to you, as I don't know what you like to do most. One thing I would suggest is Dolphin HD browser and definitely consider getting Lookout Mobile Security (don't worry it's free off the Market); plus if you're interested in books and whatnot download Kindle app. To answer you question about getting the book off Market:"no", it won't take any of your data to read it. The only data you'll lose is in downloading it. Here's a few other tips as well: if your phone has Wi-Fi options, don't hesitate to set it up and use it (especially if you have a home network setup). Use Wi-Fi whenever possible especially if you're concerned with data usage. Also if your gonna be downloading apps from other places besides Android Market, be sure you have the option for "Unknown sources" enabled. This setting option can be found in the "Applications" settings and what it does is, when checked, it will allow you to download apparently from other places other than Android market.

My girl downloaded the kindle app and she said once you install it, you can't remove it fully. Is this true for every phone?

Well personally I've never had the need to uninstall it, plus I use it on tablet. But I did have to flash on time were that ended up deleting all my apps and that one was gone too, so I suppose in a extreme sense that would be one way to completely get rid of it if you wanted to. However I can't speak for all phone/ tablet types.

From what I understand downloading the book uses up some of your data allowance but once it's actually on your device you can read it as long as you want without using up data allowance.
