Trent Edwards will be a steal.

He may be the 3rd Qb taken and drafted in the 2nd round but I will still consider him a steal if he lives up to his full potential. IMO he's the best QB in the draft class. Don't get me wrong, I love Brady and Jamarcus, and think they're spectacular Qbs but I have a feeling about Edwards. He was ranked higher than Quinn and Russell as Qb prospect coming out of high school but made the mistake of going to a talent-less Stanford. Also Espn claims that 20 of his 33 career ints bounced off his recievers. If he had played for a school like USC, Notre Dame, LSU, etc..., he probably would be at the top of this years draft board. I could be wrong, but I hope not. I want this guy to succeed.

I agree. Trent Edwards can change a lot of the first round picks. For example, it might force Lions to overlook Quinn and take Calvin Johnson and take Edwards in the second round or Browns who can draft Adrian and draft Edwards in the second round.

I still don't know about him, I look at it in the way of Jay Culter last year.  Cutler played for a bad Vandy team, but in his senior year they almost made a bowl game (finished 6-6) and the beat Tennessee for the first time in forever, I also must note, that they should have beaten Florida, but for some reason the refs called an unnecessary celebration penalty and forced them to kick the XP to go to OT.  The main difference is that Cutler made his team better, I don't know much about Edwards, but I didn't start hearing his name until the combine, whether as Cutler (well it's biased for me), but I knew he was going to be the best QB in the SEC that year, over Brodie Croyle, Chris Leak, Erik Ainge.

I'm not going to lie, I can't say anything really either way because I haven't seen Trent Edwards in any games, but Drew Stanton impresses the heck out of me. From what I've heard, they're pretty close on some teams' draft boards. It should be interesting to see if Oakland goes for Calvin, then picks a QB later. What if they can trade for Josh McCown? So many questions, so much anticipation...man, do I love the NFL Draft.

Because it was his job as the qb to win those games by himself, the fact that he had no team around him shouldnt be taken into consideration.

Yeah, Colt Brennan, product of a spread system but I still think he's a great QB.

Jay Cutler had no team around him and he still won games.

I think a QB that will do well that many are over-looking (because he went to BYU) is John Beck. His stats are very solid and he has a very strong arm. He's also more mobile than they say he is (I have witnessed this countless times) and really does have a strong arm. His STATS are very solid on a BYU team that ran a lot more than they used to (the old, pass first ask questions later Lavell Edwards approach). I hope he gets on a team where he can show what he can do because he's got talent.
