Nepal has a population of 30 million. India is at 1.2 billion. It's quite the upset no matter how you look at it.

Nepal hasn't been in any of the recent FIFA games. Oh, and China has 1.3 billion and they suck at soccer.

I assume your "so?" is aimed at my first statement, as it's clearly the most ridiculous. If you hadn't noticed, my first post was meant as a joke toward the FIFA video games. It was just an observation that India sucks; look at their team ratings, they're laughable. Second, population doesn't necessarily mean squat when it comes to world soccer, though it probably does in this instance, to one extent or another. But if India (1.2 billion) were to play Uruguay (3 million), Uruguay would kick their ass and everyone would see it coming.
India hasn't been anywhere near decent in soccer for decades. That being said, Nepal has done much worse in recent years. So its good for them to be able to beat India. It would definitely be a historic upset if the sport was Cricket instead.Â
