Gilbert Arenas nets NBA Live 08 cover

This weekend EA unveiled the cover athlete for its upcoming NBA Live 08: Gilbert Arenas, all-star guard of the Washington Wizards.

As a DC local and a Wizards fan, it's great to see Gilbert on the cover of Live, but I'm still not going to buy it over 2K8.

Maybe Gil can get both covers this year.;)

Screw Agent Zero. I don't mind a player with a big ego, most great players have them. But this guy takes it to a whole 'nother level. His new blog entry is an ode to-guess who-himself. Not once does he try and give any support to his teammates, instead he simply says that he can't bear to watch them. Can't imagine being this guy's teammate....

Dude, we get it. You were a 2nd round draft pick who finally proved to the world that you're a true superstar. Now try to move on and actually actually support the effort of your teammates.

Well put!  I can't stand this guy and his ego! 

he made the jump from underrated to overrated very quickly.  he was legit for about 2 minutes during last years playoffs, then went on to being overrated ever since.  hes a nice weirdo, we get it.  but if he isnt better than lebron, than he doesn't deserve the kind of coverage he's getting. 

is there anybody on this list he's better than:
kobe, wade, lebron, dirk, melo, a.i., nash, duncan, chris paul, tmac (no correlation), yao ming?

i say no.

He's still an upper tier talent in the league and worked hard for it, maybe he is overrated as an overall player and a star but he was a legitimate MVP candidate for the first half of this season. I also think he's an underrated point guard, he elevates his teams play while still getting his shots. He's also been pretty clutch at times, though he did choke against the Cavs in game 7 from last year. 

That said, it's 2k8 or bust for me. Time for Shaq to move on from that cover, he's had it the past few seasons. I nominate Yao!
