@Seabas989: how are wrestling matches nowadays?
I wouldn't know since nowadays I'm just a casual fan that watches it to turn my brain off. The PG era imo lacks the energy and actual individualism in pro wrestling due to the WWE now being a family friendly product.
I know chairshots to the head are banned due to concussions (which is fine).
@Seabas989: well not to long ago there was blood on Smackdown. No kidding. I wonder if WWE could attract kids with violence
I hardly ever watch wrestling anymore, but I loved the Royal Rumble matches from 2005-2007. I also like TLC matches, Fatal four Ways (missed voting for it before I hit submit), Backstage Brawls, and Extreme Rules matches. Cage matches can be cool sometimes. (they're usually more fun to play in video games than to watch on TV though). I enjoy watching old Tag Team matches from WCW (and smaller, independent promotions), but not so much in the WWE.
@Seabas989: any other kind of wrestling matches beside TLCS and Submisssions?
One of the first matches I can remember vividly was the Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon Ladder match. The other was Bret Hart and Owen Hart's steel cage match.
The last one I can remember as a little kid was the Yokozuna vs Undertaker Casket match.
So yeah those three were what I can remember as a kid. There were other matches too but you can always find old matches on youtube.
Modern wrestling is just Spot Fest wrestling.
There is no story telling during the match, no real selling, and no real emotion.
Boring product

That's because WWE is starting to do what WCW did near the end. They're sticking to the script too much and not allowing the public to steer their characters.
It's one thing to have layout that you want to happen but when the public clamors for a specific talent you need to expand that performer's persona. These days everything is too strict and doesn't allow for real stars to be made.
Go listen to people like Roddy Piper and what wresting was in his days and you hear about a completely different animal than today's wrestling. Sure, there were a ton of scripts but the ability to freestyle once they got out there and especially showing off their personas outside of the ring. They just don't have that today.
In order for wrestling to be dominant again that's what it needs, people do not want this cookie cutter product they're releasing now.
People still watch this silly, fake shit?
I gave it up completely after discovering MMA 15 years ago.
