Agreed. A rematch of the 2004 WS, and will be a sweep!

Actually, i predict this one going atleast 6 games. The Cards are super tough this time around.

Why is the World Series starting Wed?

Me along with pretty much everyone outside of Missouri and New England have zero interest in this match-up. I mean, is there a more boring fucking team than the Cardinals? Is there a more whiny and unlikable fanbase than Boston sports fans? The fact that the decline in team quality over the last decade has made the World Series as much of a snooze-fest as the NBA Finals isn't helping either.

For me, the most boring-ass world series was in 2003, the friggin Marlins and Yankees, good god, that was a true snooze-fest. Do the Marlins even HAVE fans? And how many more times do we have to see the Yankees go to/win the WS?

The objectively best team from both leagues are meeting in the WS this year (as it ought to be). I fail to see how that's boring.

Agreed. This year, the Red Sox, and Cardinals are definitely the best teams, and I expect the WS to go a full 7 games. It really could go either way.

I think Boston is better and will win in 6.

Ortiz so damn clutch.

#28 Posted by wolverine4262 (18353 posts) -

Looks like Boston would have been better off sticking with Lackey. :D

Yeah, that says nothing about the Cardinals as a team.

You're right, being one-half of a match-up that pulled in some of the worst game 1 & 2 overnight ratings in World Series history says absolutely nothing about how interesting to watch the Cardinals are as a team.

People lacking familiarity with the team =/= the team being boring.

Spin it whatever way that helps you sleep at night ace.

lol.

Like Id lose sleep over something so trivial.

#38 Posted by Master_Live (12302 posts) -

Always fun to see Ortiz play 1st.

#39 Posted by Master_Live (12302 posts) -

Beltran bunting 3-1, ummm, how about no.

And tonight is why defense is important in baseball folks...

#41 Posted by Master_Live (12302 posts) -

I hate this 2 post max rule so fvcking much. What a game.

#42 Edited by wolverine4262 (18353 posts) -

That was a beautiful game! I hope Craig is alright.

#43 Edited by Master_Live (12302 posts) -

Hey Sox, don't throw to 3rd :)

#44 Edited by Boston_Boyy (3812 posts) -

I guess I can't argue with this call, I truly don't believe Middlebrooks was thinking about what he was doing, but that's not the point of the rule regardless. That being said it's still a really shitty way to see what had otherwise been a fantastic game end.

#45 Posted by Chemistian (635 posts) -

While I understand that the call was correct, it is unfortunate to see such a good/important game end that way.

That being said, I'm getting tired of Middlebrooks saying that he was five feet inside the baseline. If he was five feet in, I have a three and a half foot...nevermind.

Nothing says "I don't give a shit" like continually talking about how much you don't give a shit.

#47 Posted by sammyjenkis898 (27837 posts) -

That call was bullshit.

#48 Posted by wolverine4262 (18353 posts) -

That call was bullshit.

How? Had Middlebrooks not been in Craig's way, Craig would have easily made it home before the throw.

#49 Posted by Put_in_Kitna (2547 posts) -

That rule is awful. For a WS game to be decided by that is just awful. Nonetheless its Boston's fault due to that awful throw to 3rd.
