You know the rules.

Here's hoping LeCavalier ends up on the Wings, we could use his size.

Talks that the Bruins may trade Seguin for a top 10 pick. Horton may be lost to FA. Wouldn't mind seeing Peverly traded.

A lot of teams will be courting Lecavalier and Daniel Briere. Can't go wrong with centers that can score and provide leadership. Even if they've lost a step from their prime years

I'd give him 7.5 million a year. Guy is worth it. He's proved himself more than once.

I say 6.5. He is very good but we have a bunch of talent at goalie.

Like who? Dobby is a FA this year as well. Svedberg (spellin?) is in the minors who hasn't really played much in the NHL (if at all) and Subban isn't ready for the NHL.

Bruins trade Seguin and Pevs to Dallas for 5 players. One of which is Eriksson. Allows us some nice cap space. One solid player and some prospects. Though too early to tell, I think I like this trade. As Seguin was not producing enough for what he was being paid.

Briere to Montreal...thought he would team up with Alfreddson since Briere actually grew up closer to Ottawa. Now Alfie may be going to Detroit! Crazy

Clarkson as much as I liked him in NJ is not worth 36.75 million over 7 years, especially after only one good year. He's a good guy but have fun with his ability to forget how to skate sometimes Toronto.

29 years old, who's 30 by season's start, who has topped out at 46 points, isn't worth what we're giving him. And that Bozak deal..could have been worse, still bad. Sens lose Alfie, gain Bobby Ryan. Well, that will bring some fans back.

Did not expect Alfie and Weiss to sign, especially the former. Happy though; Holland's thinking about the move to the East

I'm already missing Bolland and Emery. Hopefully Cory can hold down the fort next year.

I'm happy the Pens got Rob Scuderi back; He was drafted by the Pens in 1998 and stayed with the organization until 2009 when he went to LA but now he is back in Pittsburgh.

I just don't like the terms of the contracts. The money could have been much worse. Clarkson is a fine player who fits what Carlyle wants. To make it a good deal though, he has to play well till he's 35...he makes 7M when he's 33 and 34 years old. Plus, I'll take $5.5M of Grabovski (probably the best C on the market) for 4 years over the $4.5M of Bozak for the next 5. Bozak is mis-cast as a first line C who looks good cause of Kessel and Lupul/JVR. And Kessel actually puts up better numbers without him. There was no reason to sign him.

Looks like Khabibulin is going to finish his career in Chicago. I guess he would be an okay 2nd goalie. He's no Emery though.

No one talks about that trade. It was WAY worse than the Kessel one in hindsight.

And Ilya Kolvechuck retires from the NHL to go to the KHL apparently the latest lockout was enough to make him want to go home. Kovy was three years into his 100 million contract that had 77 million left. New Jersey will have a 250,000 cap recapture penelty until 2025 and the penelty of a first round pick still stands from the original contract penelty that Gary Bettman put on because he was mad.

Ilya. Whoa.

I'm sure NJ would have liked to of known before July 5th. Now: no Parise, no Clarkson, no Ilya, and no 1st rounder next year.

The guy who almost singlehandedly caused a lockout and a loophole to be closed gets up and leaves. Sounds like he's planned this a long time though.

Eh. I don't think so. Its not as bad as some previous goalie contracts. He is a young goalie who has performed well. Especially in his first season as a starting goalie.

I wish it was October already. Looking forward to seeing Bernier in the blue and white. Don't like Clarkson's contract length. I thought Bolland was a nice pick up at the draft, and both him and Clarkson are just the kind of players Carlyle adores. Now, if only Nonis can somehow keep both Kadri and Franson... ):

Training camps underway, pre-season just around the corner, and the regular season not too far behind. With the crazy workload and schedule I have going on, anticipation for hockey is what keeps me going!
