Yuck. Really? More power to you, but good lord...I hate FFVIII with a passion. Second worst FF out there.

As for my favorite hero? That's a tough choice to make, to be honest. Too many good heroes, like Cecil Harvey of Final Fantasy IV. That's an example of a good hero.

Seems like a generic answer, but I've always liked Link from Legend of Zelda

Does Captain Olimar count? He's so serious and so hilarious at the same time, but he's only managed to manipulate innocent inhabitants of a planet to save himself and rid his boss's company of debt so...

Link and Samus. Oh and Snake!

#11 Posted by turtlethetaffer (17198 posts) -

I'm gonna name a few since I can't choose just one...

Link (Link's Awakening)- He ultimately turns out to practically be the villain.

Stocke (Radiant Historia)- He undergoes a percievable change over the course of the game. He starts out as a typical loner JRPG hero but eventually evolves into something much greater.

Shulk (Xenoblade)- there's loads more to him than meets the eye and him and his compatriots are easily likeable.

The Wisp (Knights in the Nightmare)- What seems to be a faceless entity turns out to be something... well, extrordinairy.

Leon S. Kennedy (RE4)- The man is on a mission and damnit he won't let anyone stop him.

Cecil (FF4)- He is conflicted about everything and grows in interesting ways.

Big Boss (MGS3)- well developed and very conflicted makes him interesting, as does knowing what ultimately happens to him in the Metal Gear storyline.

Harry Mason (Silent Hill Shattered Memories)- He is not what you think he is.

Those are a few of my favorites.

Tough to Choose, but I thinks its Gordon Freeman

Mario. Samus Aran runs a close second.

What makes him so great? Just curios, not trying to start something. I love Half Life 2 but I think its story and characters are vastly overrated. Great presentation and production values sure but the plot is meh.

Either Yuri Lowell (Tales of Vesperia) or Francis York Morgan (Deadly Premonition)
#25 Posted by sukraj (23979 posts) -

Jason Brody from Far Cry 3.

#26 Posted by Ilovegames1992 (14221 posts) -

Squall?

Odd choice but fair enough.

I'd have to say Sam Fisher, my most consistently favourite hero.

Or more recently Ezio Auditore.

Also love Agent 47, Max Payne, Marcus Fenix and Darth Revan.

Thats all i can think of now, there's loads of good heroes out there, and thats just main heroes.

I prefer the secondary heroes or the companions of the hero. I could give a big list of them ha.

Dreamfall is pretty cool. Currently have the longest journey in my collection but haven't completed it yet. Very good story.

You definitely should, I prefer it. It's old school so the mechanics are a little harder to get used to but the story is exceptional.

I've don quite a bit of it. I can't remember where i left it, i definitely got captured and was rescued by Ryan and her talking crow companion. Then i think i got chased out of a corporation building by those twin assassins. Its been a long time since i played it you can tell ha. Although the parts under ground ith those ogre things was absolute hell for me.

Dante from DMC, not the new one though.

just little ico. he's not much of a swordsman, but i like that about him. link, not saying anything against him, just picks up a sword and knows what to do. sometimes he reads the sword manual plastered on a wooden sign or gets a crash course into sword mastery from the village survivalist, but he's a natural really. it's a talent a lot of video game heroes have. ico has the courage to use a weapon he doesn't know much about.
