IGN has an article up on Thrustmaster's new and improved Clas-sic Controller for Wii. What's cool is that the controller also works with GC games and has built-in rumble! It's supposed to come out in October (U.S.) for $20.

I'm one of those who dislikes the offical Clas-sic Controller. It's just to small and awkward to hold for me. Hopefully this will suit me better.

Works with GameCube games and has built-in rumble? Sounds like a GameCube controller.

In order for it to work, you have to plug an adapter into the GC ports on the Wii...so yeah, it's basically a GC controller that has had some button remapping on the case to make it function as a Wii classic controller, from the looks of it.

Third party controllers . . . I've had bad experiences and haven't bought any for years.

At first glance, it's ugly. That's not important if it works well, but it really is quite ugly. The buttons are laid out normally, instead of the my-first-controller GC layout. That's good! The d-pad is in the right place for classic games. That's good! The d-pad looks like its total garbage. That's not so good.

Eh, the classic controller is way better, especially for SNES games.

Normally I wouldn't consider a third-party controller, especially from Mad Catz or Pelican. But Thrustmaster makes a lot good quality PC controllers (from what I've hear), so I don't have a problem trying theirs out.

Logitech is working on Wii controllers as well, so maybe they'll have a better CC.

It is ugly, I agree, but I don't care as long as it works well.

How can you guys tell the D-pad sucks just by looking at a pic?

Well, I can't tell that it sucks (I only said it looks like it'll suck), but I've handled enough controllers that I can pick up red flags at a glance. Sometimes those concerns don't pan out, but most of the time they do.

OK call me picky but if it doesn't have the "Official Nintendo Seal Of Quality" I usually don't buy it, too many bad expierences with GC memory cards.

The ribs look really uncomfortable, but maybe it's just me.

I can't say I've had completely bad luck with third party controllers, but most are garbage. Fountech's Airstyle is the only decent one I've used, and that's due to the fact that it's a near carbon copy of the Dual Shock 2, but with wireless, and slightly rubberized grip on the bottom. It's also about ten times as sturdy-feeling as the actual Dual Shock...though it carried a price to match at the time.

Blech, it's just another crappy third-party GameCube controller. I was hoping for something from Nintendo in the hopes of it being GCN compatible.

The classic controller is already wireless, in the respect that it isn't wired to the console...
