Particularly, I'm talking about Crysis 2 and Crysis 3. The orchestral score (done by the great Hans Zimmer) in Crysis 2 is absolutely terrific! some of the soundtracks like this one is a proof of how great the soundtrack is in the game. Not only is it utilized well in-game but it also sets up the atmosphere pretty well. And the main theme is just one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. Crysis 2's OST is a beautiful piece of artistry.
Then we have Crysis 3 which was more of a musical joyride to me than the dystopia battlers that the previous Crysis were. And it was great! the constant light melodic music playing in the background helped the vivid feeling that only Crysis 3 had in the whole series. The music didn't just work as a background music but it also ended up on many people's playlists. Especially "New york memories" , you can't go wrong with that. I still listen to that soundtrack pretty much everyday and I can't love it enough. With soundtracks like "What are you prepared to sacrifice", "New York v2.0" and "New York memories", Crysis 3's OST is easily my favorite OST and the best one I've ever heard.
There might be better OSTs out there but these two OST's are just too damn under-appreciated. I've never seen a reviewer mention the soundtrack in both the games' reviews. In Crysis 3, it almost felt like that everything else was an after thought and music was the first priority (along with the gfx of course).
