Which series schould die of by now?

I don't wish for the death of any franchise but there are definitely some franchises that need a break and a slower release schedule. Assassins creed is chief among them, I used to love the franchise but I have been bored to death of it lately. Even though most people hated 3, I enjoyed it because I am a bit of a revolutonary war buff, every game after that has bored me to death.

@jimmy_russell: metal gear!? Your kidding right? They haven't made enough metal gear games.

What about MGS and Tom Clancy is a brand name (as in the name of that guy)

I question his inclusion of Far Cry because, unlike his other choices, it is currently at a peak. It's in its fourth installment, and has only been a successful series since its third installment. It is currently IN its prime as a series.

LOL, don't make me laugh. Far Cry didn't break into the mainstream until Far Cry 3.

Also, to say that the quality has been going down hill for a long time is laughable.

@Kevlar101: Far cry2 was incredibly high quallity for it's time (the first one too actually) but they were not as mindnummingly eazy as the last 2 :p

@Kevlar101: no i said Farcry 3 and 4 are Way to eazy and i never said the others are hard (they are average but the level design and the story are way greater and not with a whining protagonist that is not the same as the player)

Came here to say the same. This junk series needs to die already IMO. It pretty much killed FPS genre.

Modern Warfare was a huge success and it should've been because that game was great but it was also the beginning of the end. Every shooter these days seems to be modern military bullshit with weapons limit, sprinting, iron sight, scripted events, QTEs. tacked on multiplayer, and so on. Everybody wants COD audience. Hence destruction of franchises like Resident Evil, Thief, Crysis etc. Same crap every year and everywhere that generates billions of dollars. Everyone follows that trend now.

Think Call of Duty and Battlefield, but I have came to a conclusion of those games. I think the Illuminati made those games. They are gathering data and the addresses of the people who play them so they can release a virus like the one in Metal Gear Solid (Foxdie or whatever it called) that is able to target people of specific DNA. Once they eliminated the world of the dumb ass Battlefield Modern Warfare players they will bring out flying cars and youth life span extension, safe in the knowledge the bad, stupid, sheep, weed like generic genes been wiped out our pool. It's safe to continue.

Something needs to kill Call of Duty before then we had a lot more choices

The Sonic series, Sega are simply putting make-up on a corpse. He died along with the Dreamcast when Sony shoved a pike up his @nus and almost bankrupted Sega.

Everquest 1. It's on its 21st expansion. So many years of life lost.

As someone else said the things that needed to die is dead and the series that is alive is alive because there is a audience for it. No matter how oneself might feel about the series.

Halo should take a hiatus for maybe 6 years. Give it time to be fresh. Forza also. Metal gear solid should go, God of War, Gran Turismo

It's about time each franchise had one game that would update for years

@dylandr: Actually they do have Everquest 2. They've been supporting both games.

Call of Duty: there are just so many installments, and yearly releases are just a corrupt, horrible [for the consumer] business strategy.

Battlefront: just stop while I still have fond memories of the original Battlefronts. The Battlefront "reboot" that just came out was about as bland an online shooter as you can get.

Batman: Arkham ________ series: time to end it and start with something new. Why not a Wonderwoman game? Or Green Lantern? I mean why are we stuck with Batman!!?
