Definitely go straight to 2. This starts the Ezio Trilogy which in my opinion is the best branch of the series. I would say play Brotherhood but it starts off right where AC 2 ends. So, in short, go to Assassins Creed 2 next. :D
When I got into Assassin's Creed, I played Revelations first. Bad move. You should defiantly play them in order. The plot of the games is a huge part and, while (at times) it can disrupt the amazing gameplay, it's extremely important. If you don't play them in order, the plot is confusing, strange, and a waste of time.
Definitely play AC2 next. Then Brotherhood and Revelations. You can skinp AC3 and go straight to AC4 though. However, if you're playing them back to back, it'll get really repetitive.
The above poster said exactly what I was going to say. Maybe take a break from the series after finishing each game.

Well, after 1 comes 2 so i would go with the second.
Which is funny enough the best way to experience the story, and after Brotherhood and revelations , you could go with 3 if you want to know what happens in Desmonds life, but noone will hold it against you if you skip to Black Flag.
AC2 without question as it's the best in the series. Just play them in order.

All of this.
Do yourself a favor and skip 3.

The plot deliberately goes absolutely nowhere though and there's barely any gameplay. Hold a button to clunkily climb back and forth across an open world that doesn't need to exist because you aren't allowed to do fucking anything in it (meaning it only exists to bloat playtime) while sometimes playing simplistic button-mashing combat.
