Fredryk Fox, known originally as a lovable goof ball on YouTube, has, since 2010, been struggling to get out an animated series based on the Star Fox games.
Take in mind that he's taken some liberties with the games' storyline, mostly to fill in plot holes and make the characters more interesting.
The characters have been altered quite a lot in certain cases too: Fox suffers PTSD, Falco has slurred speech from a jaw injury, Slippy is a redneck, and Peppy is a nervous Brit.
He's also added exclusive characters: Fox's grandfather and uncle, Wolf's mother and father, Krystal's gang buddies (assuming he's kept her that way), and the occasional minor character.
What Fred's doing with Star Fox brings to mind this question: If you were to make a cartoon show based on a video game, what would you change from the game for the show?
At what point is it okay to add new characters who weren't in the original story or alter the characters' designs, personalities or backstories?
Let the discussion begin.
