Titanfall Bundle confirmed - $500 with TF and a year of XBL

The Xbox One has effectively gotten its first pricecut. This ought to boost the sales of the HW a bit everywhere, especially in the US.

Microsoft's Xbox One has been selling well to date, but still lags behindSony's PS4 with its $100 higher price tag. Now, they’ve crafted a new package that isn’t technically a price cut, but might as well be. Microsoft has just announced a limited edition $500 Titanfall console bundle, where the One will come with a free download of the game starting March 11th.

The news first broke in Australia where a news site let an embargo slip, then it was confirmed for the UK, and now the US, and it seems like this is going to be a coordinated promotion across a number of major territories.

good bundle but both target and Walmart have been offering similar bundles with gift cards for the padt few weeks. Titanfall is their only big exclusive for the next few months so it will be interesting if it can carry the Xbox like Halo did.

Good to know their taking this seriously. I knew they were going to have to do something to take a bite of the cost of this whole setup if they wanted to have this game move hardware, because previous to this it would have been the system by itself at $500, the game at $60, and a XBL subscription of choice. (keeping in mind that without it the game is unplayable) This certainly makes the game moving hardware not so incredibly expensive for someone who doesn't already have it.

This is something I've been looking for. I wonder what other titles will get their own Xbox Ones and bundles.

You'd figure that if they were going to make a Titanfall bundle, they'd throw in the Titanfall controller.

Still, a good deal is a good deal. If I didn't buy at launch, that would likely be enough bait to make me bite. :)

Wow, that's a great deal. It essentially makes the Xbox One a $380 purchase.

Plus, Titfanfall comes out on 360, so why even bother?

Xbone version will be better, and I see more of a long term future for the Xbone servers than the 360 ones. Still, it's an online only game, and as such has a limited lifespan. Especially considering EA's habits, at most the Xbone version has five years to live. So getting the game like this is the best way for console gamers who are interested to get it. Being a disposable game, people may as well get the digital version.

Well it's not really a price cut, but it's still good to see them reacting to the price issue. I'd actually consider getting it myself, but I think I would rather play Titanfall on PC.

I feel stupid for buying this thing on Day 1 now. I have only played 6 hours of Ryse and like 5 hours of Forza so far.

1 Month of Xbox Live, not 1 year.

Me, too. Should have waited. This is a great deal. Didn't expect it to do so bad that we'd see this kind of move this quickly.

I beat Ryse twice, little bit of KI. DR3 just bored me. Loved the original, but the franchise has just degenerated into Dynasty Warriors with zombies. Course, I haven't used my PS4 much either.

I didn't even know it was coming out on 360. Man, that version is going to suck nuts.

Not bad Microsoft, but you can do even better. Drop Kinect or drop the price by $100 with free Gold for life and then we'll talk.

They have a skilled team on it (Bluepoint Games) but while those guys will no doubt make the best port possible, the fact that MS hasn't even shown it hints that what is possible might not be very good.

It's completely irrelevant if it's on PC to a console gamer. If you have a gaming PC and a console, then that's good for you. But not everybody has that luxury, or maybe don't care for gaming on PC.

Well played MS. Not a bad idea to bundle a digital copy of one of the most anticipated games of 2014.

For a console gamer, the Xbox 360 is still much more relevant than the Xbox One will be for years to come. Xbox One version of Titanfall will sell a minute fraction of what the 360 version will sell. I mean who is gonna spend $500 for a very small visual upgrade just to play one game?

When the servers go down it won't matter what version you got.

I want it for Forza, but the way it looks atm, i won't be getting it. Buying it 1000 bucks atm isn't something i am interested in. I am a big fan of the series. But i don't even know if it will come here this year
