-King's Field: The Ancient City (PS2) - Great action-RPG played in the first-person perspective with a high-emphasis on exploration.
-Drakan: The Ancient Gates (PS2) - Great action-game with RPG elements where you have open worlds to explore and various quests to complete as well as leveling-up your character. The big hook being the ability to ride and control a dragon to reign down death upon your enemies from above, who can also be leveled-up.
-Rygar: The Legendary Adventure (PS2) - An action game set in ancient Greece with a few RPG elements sprinkled through-out. Playing this, you'll think it's a God of War rip-off, but the truth is, this game was first. God of War borrowed a lot from this game. While not as brutally violent as God of War, it does have similar game mechanics and the setting is familiar.
-Arx Fatalis (XBox) - A very King's Field like action-RPG game (but unfortunately minus the creepy atmospheric music) that emphasizes exploration and is also played from the first-person perspective.
-Panzer Dragoon: Orta (XBox) - A visually stunning game that is a great book-end to the Panzer Dragoon series. Almost a piece of video game art in how beautiful the game is. It's on on-rails shooter, but with a big of freedom of movement as you move around the screen.
-Jade Empire (XBox) - A unique RPG set in ancient China that focuses on martial arts and ancient mystical techniques. It also has a good & bad system similar to Fable which effects the outcome of the story. Great experience that should be played through at least once by any RPG fan.
