What do you think was the most underrated game(s) last genertaion (PS2/Xbox/Gamecube generation).

I thought Driv3r was the most underrated games last generation, it was loads of fun, it was underrated because ignorant critics refered to it as a 'GTA Clone'.

In my opinion Future Tactics: The Uprising, Scarface: The World is Yours and Shadow the Hedgehog are the most underrated games of the sixth generation. In fact, all three of them are among my favourite PS2 games.

Luigi's Mansion is the only one I can seem to think of right now. I''m drawing a blank. It was a very good game that recieved a harsher feedback because it wasn't a mario platformer (what people came to expect from Nintendo launches at the time) and length. It's design and fun was top notch.

I thought that The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age was a pretty good game but I never see anyone mention it. Lost Kingdoms II isn't necessarily underrated, it just has the problem that nobody played it to know that it's better than it was rated. Cubivore is in the same boat as LK II, except that it's really wierd so there's a good reason as to why people never played it. :P I-Ninja was also a really fun platformer with some good combat and humor, but I've only seen negative comments about it as well. Custom Robo has become one of my favorite series just for it's epic combat.

PS2:

-Beyond Good and Evil

-Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy

-Onimusha: Warlords

GameCube:

-Shadow the Hedgehog (I thought it was worth more than a 4.0 range)

-F-Zero GX

-Star Fox Adventures

-Star Fox Assault

-One Piece: Grand Battle (4Kids censorship aside, it's still a decent game)

-Zatch Bell! Mamodo Battles

-King's Field: The Ancient City (PS2) - Great action-RPG played in the first-person perspective with a high-emphasis on exploration.

-Drakan: The Ancient Gates (PS2) - Great action-game with RPG elements where you have open worlds to explore and various quests to complete as well as leveling-up your character. The big hook being the ability to ride and control a dragon to reign down death upon your enemies from above, who can also be leveled-up.

-Rygar: The Legendary Adventure (PS2) - An action game set in ancient Greece with a few RPG elements sprinkled through-out. Playing this, you'll think it's a God of War rip-off, but the truth is, this game was first. God of War borrowed a lot from this game. While not as brutally violent as God of War, it does have similar game mechanics and the setting is familiar.

-Arx Fatalis (XBox) - A very King's Field like action-RPG game (but unfortunately minus the creepy atmospheric music) that emphasizes exploration and is also played from the first-person perspective.

-Panzer Dragoon: Orta (XBox) - A visually stunning game that is a great book-end to the Panzer Dragoon series. Almost a piece of video game art in how beautiful the game is. It's on on-rails shooter, but with a big of freedom of movement as you move around the screen.

-Jade Empire (XBox) - A unique RPG set in ancient China that focuses on martial arts and ancient mystical techniques. It also has a good & bad system similar to Fable which effects the outcome of the story. Great experience that should be played through at least once by any RPG fan.

Ar Tonelico Melody of Elemia, Star Fox Assault, and Okage shadow King. All of those games target specific audience but I think they didn't reach the right people which was unfortunate.

The Onimusha trilogy is really underrated in the West. If it weren't for the high Japanese numbers I doubt it would of had as many sequels. Each of the main three are simply amazing with a great mix of puzzles, horror and action.

Fur Fighters & Toy Commander

A few of the old team from Bizarre creations have bought the rights for Fur Fighters and ported it to the IPAD for £1.50

Hopefully this means a sequal is still possible :D

InuYasha Secret of the Cursed Mask. It was the first REAL RPG I played. I guess the reason I like it so much was because it had such a great sense of adventure, and I never played a game like it before.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja. Better than Smash Bros.

Jak X Combat Racing. Better than Mario Kart. I really wish Naughty Dog kept Jak and Daxter as their primary IP instead of going on to make Uncharted.

Tales of Legendia. Sure this game is the odd one out in the Tales series because of its different battle system, but everything else about the game is so freaking amazing. The music, the art direction and the atmosphere are all amazing.

Tales of the Abyss. This game just doesn't get the respect it deserves.

Grandia 2 and 3. Grandia has one of the best combat systems off all time. It's the most intuitive turn based battle system I've ever played, and it nobody seems to appreciate that.

Ar Tonelico Melody of Elemia is a PS2 game, it is very good. The combat and leveling system is great plus it is unique compared to others. Also isn't the first Ar Tonelico on PS2 or am I missing something?

I picked this one up at Goodwill today for only $3.99. Got home and went to test the disc and found myself going into race after race. The racing is fun, the cars handle well, there are plenty of car choices, and it has a great soundtrack that keeps you pumped (which is great in a racing game!).

But then I noticed bad reviews about the game when I went to check it out as I added it in my collection, surprised the hell out of me. Guess everyone back then was spoiled by the likes of Gran Turismo and Metropolis Street Racer.

There were only a small number of games that made the original Xbox worth anything to me. Phantom Dust is to me the best game I played on that system hands down. Between that, Halo 2, GGXX#R, and PSO that was all I needed to justify having the system back then. I really hope Phantom Dust gets a new lease on life one day (I'd actually love it on the 3DS or Vita).

Whenever we have an underated topic, people always mention "Beyond Good & Evil".

But it was never underated; it always scored highly, it just didn't sell well when it was released. Underated shouldn't be confused with slow selling.

It was amazing with the right folks. Me and a few friends would host 2v2s that would keep going til near dawn occasionally. That was very likely the biggest surprise on Xbox to me, and launching at $20 (I think) REALLY made it a killer deal to me.

I've been trying to find it on Amazon/Ebay so I can play it again but...those.....those prices..

Horrible voice acting aside, it was a great game and underrated. Especially the graphics and soundtrack.
