Strategy games that use world maps.. Do you hate it or not?

Anyone here gets bored of using the world map in strategy games, cause I do.

When I played Rome Total war I just quitted right away. I don't like play Risk mode combine. It just fell like a waste of time going all around the world none stop. specially Empire Earth 3, it sucked! Ruined it. It world be a lot better if you can free move anywhere and theres a map option like fps games instead of using the world map to play with.
