Eurogamer confirmed the rumors made on NeoGAF on how the infamous steam summer sale will start on June 19th and run until June 30th. It's happening early then I remember it, but it is happening.

What do you guys plan to buy in light of the Steam Summer Sale?

Not much. Mostly waiting to see if the Dark Souls 2 season pass will get a good discount. Planning to pick it up for myself and a friend, so any money can save would be welcome. Might pick up Fract OSC or Ikaruga if either gets a good enough deal, though. Had my eye on them for a while now.

Looking forward to Amazon's sale, usually they have better deals than steam.

Doesn't Amazon always have deals or do they have a special time period where everything gaming is on sale?

I usually buy nothing from these sales as I'm not much of a PC gamer, but if FFXIV were to go on sale I might pull the trigger. I'd kinda prefer it on PS4 but if the price is too good to pass up then I might bite.

Both, and in both cases they tend to be better deals than what steam is offering.

I have my wish list ready:

Stick It To The Man!

Jazzpunk

Life Goes On

The Floor is Jelly

Mercenary Kings

Aquaria

The Stanley Parable

Octodad

Gone Home

Starseed Pilgrim

Goat Simulator

Full Bore (I think the full game has released now)

Escape Goat

If I see anything else interesting that can run on my crappy laptop I'll probably pick it up as well.

Mostly smaller games as Amazon and GMG tend to be better for buying full priced games from big publishers. Plus smaller games are usually the games I actually finish.

Jazzpunk, Battleblock Theater, Child of Light, Starseed Pilgrim, Astebreed, Ikaruga, Stick it to the Man, Gunpoint, Richard & Alice, Valdis Story: Abyssal City, Fract OSC, Year Walk, Always Sometimes Monsters and Shadowrun: Dragonfall DLC

I can cross off Gunpoint since that's on sale today.

On the fence on: Banished, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and Wolf Among Us

I'll be happy if any of these go on for just 33% as most of these are less than $20.

i still haven't picked up the Shadowrun expansion...so probably that? I don't know. Will have to see what's on sale. Most of what I'm looking forward to is early-access and I don't like to buy until I can play the whole thing (just a way of saving money - buying a game right when I plan on playing it). Games like Original Sin are an exception to that, as fantasy titles have a tendency to jump to the front of my playlist, so I'm not as worried about them getting lost to my backlog....so maybe if I see a fantasy RPG I was on the fence about.

I will also be picking up Bioshock 2 as I adore that game's underrated mutiplayer to death. People still play it daily, as will I when I pick up it during the sale. I can't wait!

Games I'm planning to get are Fallout New Vegas, The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion(I've played it on the 360 but nostalgia is kicking in and I want it for PC), Bioshock Infinite and lastly, the Broken Steel DLC for Fallout 3. We'll see if I get anything else along the way.

I've seen the game pop back up for a dollar during the sale.

Yes... All the Steam Cards!

I'm looking at these titles:

Geometry Wars1.99
LOVE1.49
KAMI1.99
I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream2.99
Primordia2.99
The Cat Lady6.69
Cloudbuilt2.99
Papo y Yo3.74
Thirty Flights of Loving2.49
Year Walk2.99
Oddworld Pack2.49
Ballpoint Universe1.99
Total32.84

The total comes out a little over budget; however, I mostly bought the steam card because I had a Best Buy gift card wasting away in my wallet since last year.

I've already bought:

Gone Home

BattleBlock Theater

realMyst

Riven

so this should put me in just above $50 for the sale which is about how much I wanted to spend.

I'm pretty tempted to buy The Whispered World and Night of the Rabbit, but I must resist because those are more expensive titles coming in between $6-9.
