All my doubts on this game have been force pushed to oblivion. OMG!!!!

http://games.yahoo.com/games/front

All I hope is that they don't forget the lightsaber, I want to be able to do a bunch of cool stuff with that too.

Wow! I'm about halfway throug the video, and it just looks fricking fantastic!
#3 Posted by 1carus (1454 posts) -
Yeah that looked really nice. It's a pity LucasArts sold out and abandoned the PC - otherwise I'd really be looking forward to it.
#4 Posted by Grammaton-Cleric (7513 posts) -

Yeah...ummmm...that was insanely awesome. After seeing next to nothing about this game for months, that was a serious one-two punch.

I keep forgetting about this game, but man that vid was insane. Just went from a "meh" to a probably preorder in my books.

I still don't like how he holds his lightsaber.

I think it *looks* cool, but it seem really impractical. Holding it like that make it seem like it would delay your abiliy to deflect shots and stuff.

It kind of looks like he auto deflects lasers like in Jedi Knight. The whole thing looks like Jedi Knight on steroids, I cannot wait. The blending of Euphoria, Havok and that other one is going to make for some crazy gameplay.

Heh,I was speaking hypothetically. Not as an aspect of gameplay, but if someone where to actually hold a saber in that manner.

Anyway,I agree,it look fantastic. Though the whole grabing on thing seems like it could make it seem less realistic in a sense, like if a stormtrooper automaticly clings to anything around him, everytime. Either way,it look cool.

Jedi Outcast was for me the last great Star Wars action game. If it manages to be on that level, it will be one of the hbest games of the year easily. Here's hoping it is more Jedi outcast and less like Lucasarts more recent efforts like Battlefront, eh?

Hopefully the Wii version won't be as bad as i'm thinking it'll be. Otherwise the 360 and PS3 versions are shaping up to at least look really nice, have to wait and see on the gameplay front though.
#16 Posted by UpInFlames (13279 posts) -

It looks impressive and stuff, but for some reason I can't get really excited about this game. I guess I just need Knights of the Old Republic III, everything else just pales in comparison.

Where's the pc version of it we demand one we have jedi jnight we want something to fill out jedi knight hole.
#18 Posted by feel_freetwo (1888 posts) -
although i think this euphoria (sp?) is certainly a step in the right direction, its implementation in this game is far from impressive. it still looks as loose as ragdoll. dont get me wrong, its a good thing, its just nothing to get excited about. why on earth is this video impressive though? it looks extremely easy....nay frustrating. i bet many times we will stand there dealing with a storm trooper , lifting him with the force. and loads of other storm troopers will be shooting us while we do it (ofcourse if the game is anything like the movies, the storm troopers wont actually ev er hit you). because you are so powerful, to make this game good is going to take some amazing varity and tasks. and i doubt lucas arts are up to that. besides, we should be playing as darth bane.
#19 Posted by Travo_basic (38751 posts) -
Holy crap that was awesome. I can see myself playing around with the physic for hours and not really getting anything accomplished in the game. No Wii version for me.

That footage was very impressive and the implentation of the new applications is obvious in every frame shown. You seem hellbent on looking for something negative while engaging in rampant speculation about the game being too easy.

Kind of a joyless stance, don't you think?

how i envy thoese who can find joy in the modane. i wish i didnt see every crack, but sadly i do. every design flaw and repetition. i was actually speculating on the challenge of the design. the fact is that to offer inresting tasks they are going to have to be pretty creative over at lucas arts. and considering all they seemed to show was a big monster in the trailer, im pretty confident they arent up to the task.

You know, if you're going to talk down to somebody, you might want to consider applying this radical concept we call spelling and grammar.

The word is m-u-n-d-a-n-e.

And just a tip: there was nothing mundane about that trailer.

Your post however, yeah, that was mundane.

Well this would have been great, if it hadn't been for the fact that limbs can't be cut off by the lightsaber, how cool :|

I wouldn't go that far, I have had many differences with him but he is correct here for sure. What was shown was special, it really is something we have not seen in games, all these systems working together. Having it set in my favorite universe is the icing on the cake. It was a few minutes of footage, its pointless to try to make any solid opinion on gameplay, we just know that playing the game will be a unique experience.

Great tech but it really boils down to how the good the set-pieces turn out to be. I'd like to see some cover since the apprentice can't deflect everything, and more interesting AI behaviour than what Euphoria allows, like actual tactical AI, because the apprentice is so ridiculously over-powered at this point. Definitely looks more interesting than Prototype though.

Its LA, I don't expect much from the set-pieces to be honest, I dont think they ever were good at that. I am just glad that it seems like they nailed being a jedi, where just fooling around is enough to be a lot of fun. Tactical AI for this game seems piointless, your a Jedi, any tactics they try on you will fail miserably. Plus they are stormtroopers, they are meant to be crappy enemies.

I bet there will be a ton of Jedi enemies as the game goes on so you can actually have a fight. Maybe if they want to get inventive they can have stormtroopers that have ysalamiri which is a creature that creates a dead zone in the force, making it impossible to use the force around it. They could have a level where your powers are held in check so you need to focus on lightsaber combat for that level. Thats how I think they should mix things up and add difficulty.

#38 Posted by ish_gibbor (1713 posts) -

What is the force porn part in your post about?

After watching webdoc II and III here at gamespot I can't wait for this game. Havok, Euphoria, and DMM working together will be cool, but the story seems awsome as well. Check out webdoc II they talk about the story.

Looks cool but the framerate wasn't too hot. Also how come after every thing he does,he puts his lightsaber back behind his back? It just looks impractical and very unnecesary.
