shadow of mordor is basically a clone of assassin's creed

shadow of mordor looks like an AWESOME game and i'll most likely be buying it but when i saw gameplay at E3 this year. i understood why everyone was saying its basically assassin's creed. when i first heard that, i didn't think so since it had something to do with lord of the rings but when i saw the gameplay, i couldn't believe how much the game was AC. but i'm getting it since it looks awesome but i want a second opinion first. thoughts?

Who cares, it's LotR!

One of the devs came out and said they blatantly used the code he had written for AC2 so that makes sense why it looks so much like it. That being said, i will be purchasing it day 1 because im a sucker for lotr lore

i think it looks like it has better combat but worse environment . but lotr beats ac universe anyday

I can safely ignore it then.

If the combat is just as easy as it is in AC then i will be ignoring this one.

and Assassin Creed was a copy of Prince of persia , but so much easier than PoP. actually when i saw shadow of mordor , first thing that crossed my mind was Prince of persia ....

It's definitely an AC clone imo, the jump attack (or whatever it's called) looks like air assassinate and there's that takedown. The movement. The nemesis system looks like Eagle vision. But the combat reminds me of a broken Batman arkham games combat. Oh and the execute or something bit when you hold an enemy with your hands reminds me of Prototype, looks like it's borrowing from lots of games lol. Still I'm excited for it, hopefully it's a good game.

every game borrows from something and no it isn't, it was a Batman game and they changed it to a LOTR game

I'm so tired of Assassins Creed that I'm happy to see someone doing something similar in a different universe. It's LOTR! Hellyeah!

Is this one going to have co-op ?

The nemesis system is a lot more than just eagle vision... come on guys.

I'm not buying it unless I get confirmation that the writing is better than the one in War in the North. The plot and dialogue in that one bored me out of my skull.

Ofcourse they are too scared to make a game that isnt ripping another sucessfull game off and isnt a sequel or part of a important franchise.

YUP Confirmed ITS A RIP-OFF! its as much of a rip-off as Lords of shadow and Dante's inferno is a rip off of God of war..

The combat does look like Batman with a sword. It still looks interesting to me though. You can use the environment and move around with complete freedom during combat which neither AC nor the Arkham games allow you to do.

I think the game seems alright, I don't mind if it takes game design concepts from other games.

In all honestly I don't see why most gamers like this game I don't like playing these type of games and I suppose everyone has different taste in videogames.

As much as I love LoTR lore, I'm gonna wait for some reviews before I deciding on this one.

This one actually looks gerat, in comparison to last few LOTR games :P
