Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire remakes coming to 3DS

Remakes of Game Boy Advance games Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire are coming to the 3DS. The Pokémon Company announced today that Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire will arrive worldwide in November 2014, only on 3DS.

The Pokémon Company describes the games as a "fresh take" on the originals, which debuted more than a decade ago in 2003. "The new titles promise to take players through a dramatic story within a spectacular new world," the company said.

So how about it, which version are you getting?

I'm going to wait for the Emerald remake.

Can't say I'm too surprised about this. But I won't be getting it.

@crimsonbrute: Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they've ever made a remake of any of the "third" versions (ie Yellow, Crystal, and now Emerald).

@crimsonbrute: I couldn't see them not at least adding in a revamped Battle Frontier from Emerald.

Although, I have to say, if they bring back the much more simple contests... I might actually buy the games. I LOVED the original Contests. Had a Medicham that won in Cool and it was great.

@crimsonbrute: I loved the ones from Gen 3. They were kept simple and were a ton of fun because of it. Then they became musicals and whatnot and it went downhill.

Why do pokemon games have to come in pairs? I hated capcom for doing this with Starforce series. :(

i might even buy a 3dsl xl just for this, i loved these game when i was younger,

got rayquaza with a normal pokeball took some days xd (kinda ran out of ultra xd)

I think I'll be getting Omega Ruby. Gen III is my favorite generation of Pokemon because Sapphire was my first Pokemon game, so I'm very excited for these remakes.

You needed to max out its beauty and then level it up. It was the last pokemon of the national dex that I needed as well.

Were they any good?

Money. It forces you to either trade with someone who has the other version or just buy the other version if you want to catch them all. Or, they're exploiting kids and parents who didn't know any better (I did this years ago when I was like 10 and first started buying Pokemon games) who will buy both versions thinking they're different. Oh, then they'll come out with a third version so you'll give them more money. I've always hated that.

But I am very excited for this remake. Gen 3 is still my favorite Pokemon generation. Throw in the improvements that were in X and Y and this may even be GOTY material for me.

This will be the third pokemon game I play. Very excited to see what gen 3 has to offer.

I know, I've gotten both versions of FireRed/LeafGreen, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, and Diamond/Pearl but I stopped buying both versions after that because I realized I'm way too lazy to complete the Pokedex lol.
