Capcom have just released a remastered version of Ducktales, which was released back in 1989. The level design, graphics, gameplay, and boss fights were improved because of new hardware advancements that wasnt possible back in the NES days.

What old games you like to see remastered?

Battlefront 2 HD without a doubt

Wingcommander all series. Imagine playing that in todays 3d graphics and watching the movies in 1080p today. WOW.

Final Fantasy 9. With modern graphics and sound, this game would be legendary. Of the three on PSX, this was closest to what the series originally was.

#6 Posted by Randolph (10470 posts) -

I almost forgot that Black had even existed. "Gun porn" it was called. It was... unimpressive.

Panzer Dragoon Saga, by far. They can leave everything intact since the gameplay has not practically aged a second given how unique it is.

Just rework the FMVs, put it all in a modern engine, and done.

I'd support that. By the time I got the game in 2004 it was so ugly I couldn't stand it, but the gameplay was very compelling. I'd also like to see Advent Rising be given a new shot at life. Their was a gaming epic buried in that mess they released on Xbox a few years ago.

I love the artstyle though, reminiscent of 'Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind'. And that soundtrack.. Played it around late 2012 wen i got my Saturn for the first time, instantly fell in love with the game.

You should check the first couple on the Saturn aswell. Despite the crappy, pixelated graphics that are a given with 5th gen. 3D games, the soundtrack and artstyle which create that brilliant atmosphere is one of a kind in gaming, the gameplay holds up, especially in Zwei, and music like this is an orgasmic pleasure for my ears.

Panzer Dragoon 1 has aged though. The framerate isn't as good (it's a little better than Goldeneye on the N64, if you want a point of reference), and the gameplay is simplistic compared to how much Zwei improved upon it. But because if its simplicity, it's still fun, the level design is impressive and varied, and the soundtrack is the best in the series.

And Panzer Dragoon Orta? Obviously that's the best rail shooter ever concieved, gameplay and graphics still remain as poignant as ever, chock filled with content to last dozens of hours.

One of my most beloved series of all times.

I played the original in the early days of the system. I was big into the OG Xbox, so of course I played Orta to death. It's a quality series to be sure, maybe I should go finally check out vids of it's spiritual successor, Crimson Dragon.

Cannon Fodder, Zac Mackracken and a few of the old Lucasarts adventure games

Little Big Adventure 2

Road Rash anyone?

Road Rash anyone?

The creative team behind the originals just finished up a Kick Starter for a spiritual successor to Road Rash. Since EA holds the license, I don't particularly want to see them shit all over the name with some soulless "reimagining" like they did with SSX.

Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 and they are already remastering Abe's Oddysee so that would be good for me

Old adventure games, like Grim Fandango.

I was thinking 'heroes of might and magic II' at first, but then I realized every homm game is basically a remastery of the first, sooo... Strider 2 hd would be cool. That or sorcerer's kingdom

All of the Panzer Dragoon games.

BTW, Orta has a kick ass soundtrack too. :p

Altered Beast could be remastered or remade into a modern 3d video game would be really cool.

I would also like to see a remake of Advent Rising. It had some hype when it was about to be released. I remember there was a million dollar prize. It is a shame it was not as good as it was expected to be. There was potential in that.

Joe and Mac, really wish it was remastered in HD with online play. Shenmue 1/2 need to be remastered along with Crazy Taxi 2 and Jet Set Future.

Game was a glitch fest, and pretty ugly. (it used Unreal engine 1, and used it poorly) But on the few occasions everything clicked, it showed such amazing promise. In the hands of an actual competent developer it could have been one of the best games of that generation.

Final Fantasy IX and Shenmue are the only ones I can think of right now. Really looking forward to playing Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts II again.

#32 Posted by Zelda99 (735 posts) -

Oh man, lets take it back. Final Fantasy XII, Sky's of Arcadia (remember that one?), and a true third person gem: Jet Force Gemini. but that will never happen. XII is considered a black sheep, Sky's never generated much buzz or still has many fans and Jet Force Gemini is, well, damn near unknown.

Legend of Mana - from a 2d-ish world to a completely 3d one.

Threads of Fate - a forgotten masterpiece (IMO). This needs to be redelivered into the gaming world.

KOTOR 1/2

Brave Fencer Musashi, Black, ALttP, San Andreas, Ninja Gaiden I-III, Enter the Matrix and RE4.

#35 Posted by Lucianu (9351 posts) -

All of the Panzer Dragoon games.

I like the soundtrack in Orta, but it's least favorite in the series. I think the soundtracks regressed in quality as time moved on - Panzer Dragoon I has the best soundtrack, Zwei comes in second, Saga comes in third, and finally Orta comes in last.

I would love to see a remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I think that would have been alot cooler than remastering The Wind Waker.

Definitely the KOTOR games. Trapped in the XBOX/PS2 of meh looking 3d graphics, would love to see how the game would look like right now.
