Honestly, I believe this is a good thing. It makes every player have to earn their gear by actually playing the game. The only trading that will happen is between your own guardians that you create, so you can give your Hunter the sniper rifle that your Titan picked up, as an example.

What do you all think of this decision?

most of the endgame loot is purchased with tokens or acquired from raid drops. Being able to trade loot would simply defeat the purpose of that system and allow guild groups to quickly outgear other players...which is why no MMO allows you to trade such loot. It's all BOP (short for "bind on pick-up"). I could see them allowing for trading of lower level gear, but honestly, it's not a big loss if they don't since that gear becomes irrelevant anyway and it's probably not worth the hassle of creating an auction system just for temporary goodies.
