No Man's Sky has 18 Quintillion Planets

Sean Murray from Hello Games recently divulged that No Man's Sky's universe will be made up of a 2 to the 64th power equation when it eventually constructs its universe.

But for anyone who might be wondering how many planets that actually is, it's a Big Effing Number

18 quintillion and some change. That's a lot of planets.

i wander how do they know this and what exactly do you do in the game?

It can have as many planets as it wants but if it's not fun to explore/play, pretty pointless.
