Sean Murray from Hello Games recently divulged that No Man's Sky's universe will be made up of a 2 to the 64th power equation when it eventually constructs its universe.

But for anyone who might be wondering how many planets that actually is, it's a Big Effing Number

18 quintillion and some change. That's a lot of planets.

It can have as many planets as it wants but if it's not fun to explore/play, pretty pointless.
