Wow. That's shocking. RIP Iwata-san. You helped bring joy to millions of children as President of Nintendo. You were a great guy all around, regardless of what people thought of you.
I just saw it posted. Very sad to hear that. He definitely did great things for the gaming industry.
So very sad. "Iwata asks" were great, and he certainly wasn’t afraid t poke fun at himself throughout the various Nintendo videos over the years. Unlike many CEO’s he had a background in development and worked on everything from Earthbound to Kirby. A very charming public persona at Nintendo. He will be missed. I did not expect to come home to hear this news. Age 55 is just way to young to die.
I was surprised when I learned that he died unexpectly. No one expected this to happen. Now, who will suceed him as president and CEO.
R.I.P Mr. Iwata.
I will be honest and say I did not enjoy what Iwata was doing with Nintendo, and I've wanted him replaced for a while now, but this isn't how I wanted to see it happen...
Wow. That is very shocking and sad news indeed. Wasn't he treated for something not too long ago? Anyway may he rest in peace.
Very sad. Even though I'm not the biggest Nintendo fan, it kinda feels like we lost a member of the family. Our gaming family.
This is shocking and very unfortunate news. Despite my personal feelings towards Iwata's management style and the disagreement in the direction he took Nintendo over the years, it's undeniable his contributions made towards the industry and gaming as a whole. 55 is far too young.
Rest easy Iwata.
Wow!! R.I.P Iwata. He seemed like a nice guy. It caught me off guard. It's a sad day. He did have a condition going on with him. I wasn't sure how bad it was. This site hasn't been working properly since this news.
This is so sad. When I saw it on the front page I had to check the date to make sure it wasn't some sick April fools joke because he seemed to be doing great after his operation, so this has really come out of nowhere. R.I.P Mr Iwata, you will be remembered and missed.
