Need some new games for summer break

Hi, so with the summer break just around the corner I need some good games that last a fairly long time. I prefer shooter games such as Left 4 Dead, I'd prefer to not play online multiplayer games where you play against people although I don't mind a coop based game. Money is not a problem as long as it will be worth it and isn't going to die out/be boring after the first day or first play through etc. (Before anyone mentions Dayz, I don't really like it tbh so please avoid suggesting it). Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

er if you have a PC then download dungeons and dragons online it is free but there is lots of stuff to buy within the game or get all the batman arkham games seen as they are cheap apart from the last one that should keep you busy well it did me anyways hehe lol:)

@lukeaustin8: Borderlands is great. It's a shooter with co-op if you choose and you can get borderlands 2 and the pre-sequel in the Handsome Collection with all the dlc. It took me around 30 hours to beat my first playthrough of borderlands 2 not counting the dlc and I believe there's 3 or 4 main story DLC for each game, so there's a lot of content and it's really fun, especialy with a friend.

@xanatos357: I've played and completed Borderlands 2 a while back and it was a lot of fun! although I haven't tried the first borderlands or the pre-sequel so I'll give them a go. Thanks for the suggestions.
