Been a very long time since I played any racing games but was thinking of giving this style of play a chance again.

What do you think of need for speed: run? Does it have a good mix of story and racing?

The game is one huge race around a race track that's 200 miles long. It's story is wafer thin, good looking dude's done some bad stuff and you press a few buttons here and there to keep him alive. It's probably the worst NFS game in its 3 decade run.

well I ended up picking it up today =)

I've been wanting to give this game a try for a while. I've played many of the other Need for Speed games in the past.

I heard so much bad stuff about this game, driving physics, length and the overall story progression techniques. However, it was on sale for $20 at Target (and they still had some Limited Edition copies, another sign it was a bad game) so I bought it. I had an absolute blast. :D Due to work and family, I need to fight for my hobby time so being able to have a short (Just over two hours, wow) but extremely satisfying racing experience was just what my mind needed. I really enjoyed the scenery, the mix of orchestral and licensed music and, believe it or not, I am a fan of QTEs so the story set pieces were great. Then you get the environmental changes (Avalanche level anyone?) that really gave a rush of adrenaline. Short game? Yes. Does it have flaws? Yes. I suspect I would have been a little less forgiving at a $60 price point for how short it is, but at $20 I found it to be a blast. Any updated impressions for us TC?

Manual Resets is a bad idea !

Nitro Boost around sweeping guard rails on corners is a bad idea !

Set a number of limits on hitting others or crashing into nature.

Save your money...and, invest it into a 'Driving Game'.

yeah I enjoyed it, this was more my type of "driving" game. I want story with my games, so normal racing games have never appealed to me.

extremely satisfying racing experience was just what my mind needed. I really enjoyed the scenery,BradHummr
There was times racing though the farms with an aeroplane flying overhead that reminded me so much of NFS3 (the original hot pursuit 1998)

Look this was just ok game... Firstly the graphics were ok, Secondly the games story wz good, Thirdly it had awfully repeated levels.. The Gameplay was bad.. Man if u go just a cm out of track it resets.. HELLLLL..... Mobs were BAWRINg... Cutscenes were good... Cars were gr88888888888...

For me

Graphics: 9

Gameplay: 4.5

Sounds: 7

Secondly the games story wz good, IshantheRocker

No offense, but the story was lame. most nfs games don't need a story and it shows. i think the cutscenes go for about 5 minutes total, THAT's the entire story throughout the whole game. The acting was on par with any Fast and Furious movie. I think the original 'most wanted' had a far better storyline (eg that crooked cop that wanted you no matter what).

I agree with you totally.. NFS Most Wanted is the best NFS game so far with awesome story, cool graphics and mind blowing gameplay!
