Is Mortal Kombat X final installment?

I've heard rumors that Mortal Kombat X being the final installment to the franchise, is this true?

There's won't be Mortal Kombat 11 after this one?

That will only be the case if the game is an enormous critical and commercial failure. There's a 99.9% chance we will see MK11, basically.

@Jaysonguy: Not going just to cause endless debate back and forth, this isn't the MK I know at all. I know games have to evolve but you can do this without changing the core game, story and characters streetfighter and tekken has proved this. MK9 was pretty good how they did it but I think in my personal belief they took a step back with this, from story to everything it may get your purchase which is fine and dandy but it will not get mine.

Assuming it does well financially, I don't see why it would be.

they will redo the story or do a stupid story move to be able to make "sense" and anyway it is MK ... they can bring back whatever caracter by whatever means ... just like they bring back Subzero even tho he was a cyborg and died ... but hey whatever.

I, too, am not very interested in this one has it feels like they try to be edgy with how more violent it is and to me they spoiled all the fun because they gave us everything to know ... even some youtuber got the game already and well ... it was hard to resist but still disapointing.

We are far from MKII days where fatalities were a secret and people tried to keep them secret haha
