Is it cool to hate Navi?

So I bought The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask for £23, which is a steal here, considering Majora's Mask goes for £30-40 alone. It's the first time I've ever played them and I love them. They've aged well and I couldn't put down the controller when it comes to OoT. I've only played 10 mins of MM to see if it works.

On the internet during top ten annoying characters Navi is always on there. Comments - hate on Navi. Videos - "Shut the **** up Navi". Am I the only one who thinks people blow her out perportion? I think when she says "Listen!" it's cute and rare. She only does it when you've been wandering a while or come up to an object/baddy of interest and I've had no annoyance from this yet the internet hate her.

Nope. I'd say the hate's legit, she's pretty damn annoying, back then and now.

I don't hate the character but yeah, the "Listen!" became annoying after a while. Bossy little light bulb =P

After the first dungeon, she is hardly a presence in the game at all. The hate about her is incredibly blown out of proportion. Fi from Skyward Sword was far, far worse.

I didn't find Navi's "tips" particularly useful, hence my extreme dislike of the random butting in to not help.

She didn't bother me.

Navi never really bothered me. Maybe I was just too young to remember from when I played it back in the day, but Navi really had an effect on me. I guess if you played the game through multiple times, the chiming-in could get a little old, but for a single playthrough. it wasn't too bad.

Navi is an angel compared to Fi, though still awful.

Midna was good

Tatl, Midna and King of Red Lions were all great because they played roles in the story and were well developed characters.

The hate is real, but I actually like her a lot. I always thought it was cool that your fairy talked to you, even if it was the same line every time.
