Is Blacksite: Area 51 related to a PS2 and XBOX game Area 51?

ok, i got confused about this, you see both game share AREA 51, it came from the same devoloper " Midway", and both are FPS'.

so is Blacksite a sequel to Area 51? every review don'teven mention Area 51 in thier Blacksite reviews : \

yeah it is buy both they are both backwards compatible and the same game Area 51 is blacksite....AnalogOdyssey

2-why should i ask about a game that i don't even own?

3- why would i buy both version of Area 51?isn't one version enough

It says the game is "mostly unrelated" to Area 51 on Wikipedia. What "mostly" means I'm not sure, but I assume it isn't a sequel or prequel.

OK i have donesome research.

while i was reading the new EDGE edition, i stumbled across thier review of Blacksite: Area 51. while i had no intrest to read that review because i wasn't intended to buy it anyway, i came across a paragraph about the origin of the game.

They said that game is based on the same univers that the Area 51 had but the change the whole story to fit into thier new storyline (which is basically some US government making a mist of bilogical weapon and bla bla bla). But other than they said it wasn't connected.

can anyone conferm this and tell me in more detail. Since I was a huge fan of the first game and would also buy if its sequel to it (although its kind of rubbish).
