I have no online friends :0(

Hi everyone, I am 31 and have been a gamer for as long as I can remember. I mainly play playstation and have a few online friends, but have recently bought an Xbox one and have no online friends at all. I'd like some friends to have on my account for general things like comparing acheivements and just to see what people are playing etc and was wondering if there was anyone out there who is like me and would want to friend-up? I'm a casual gamer, I go on most days, and would like some decent nice people on my friends list. My id is icemonkey1282 for xbox and playstation. I currently have an Xbox one, PS3, ps vita and will be getting a ps4 in January

Wouldn't you prefer offline friends ?

Hi @icemonkey1282. Another good way to build up your friends list is by sending requests to players you have had the chance to play online with, but you'll probably wind up with a few requests from your post. Happy gaming!

Thanks for a very wide variety of answers! I get the odd request from people I play online with, but wanted to maybe chat to people on here first and add them once I know they aren't argumentative or annoying (know some names already from here I certainly wouldn't add!) and just for the record I have plenty of offline friends, but only 3 of them are gamers and all playstation, just wanted a few new xbox 'acquaintances' to compare stuff with etc.

Thanks to the friendly posts though, don't know why people enter posts just to be sarcastic - pathetic really

You are welcome, some people are just dysfunctional like that, so the internet is the only place they can really express themselves without any real accountability.

I'm very selective when people make post like these, but you seemed ligit, so I had no problem sharing my gamer tag.

Yeah, it's been my experience that while people who troll online like to hide behind logic like "ha, I'm just acting like this because it's the internet and it doesn't matter" but they tend to be just as douche bag-gy in real life whether they realize it or not.

For the record, I don't pretend to be a woman. I have an attractive female avatar/gaming picture and play as the female character because I prefer woman. It's just the men who incorrectly assume I'm a woman.

When people make friends requests to me or send me messages, I don't know their gender. I respond to them kindly just like anyone else. I sometimes have thought that they were women, but as time passed, they turned out to be male.

By chance, are you mad because you thought I was a woman. Are you the one who was sending me those love messages almost everyday with hears and pictures. I was very flattered. I appreciated the messages even if it was a case of mistaken identity, but I never pretended to be a woman (I'm just playing with you a little bit--have a sense of humor). I was also offering a suggestion.

I treat ppl online as "friends", till tend to be disappointed over time.
