i thought i was better at howzat which is a cricket game, but as soon as i entered online, i was at best stayed at no.3, the competition is too tough online, then i thought if i had a ps3 and paid money to play some game online, it would be too frustrating to lose.

Oh, I am sorry to hear about your tough experience. Maybe because online gaming especially on Facebook is far different from playing it on the PS3. The hardest thing is always the first time. But if would try to play often and practice it more, I know it will no longer be tough.

i see well i won the last two games, its tough but it may as well increase my gaming level. its just that now i am not sure i would want to waste money for online gaming in consoles or even in a pc, except if its for free. i have a ps2 but a slim model and even if i had the fat version i do not think i could have wanted to ff11, or even afford too as well.

Hehe, Facebook games. But anyway, online gaming in general is going to be tough for newcomers. I remember how terrible I was at the first Call of Duty game I played at first. Got a lot better shortly after, which is sort of how it works in most games. It can be really fun, but also frustrating. I for the most part stay away from online games now because of the latter part.

i know they are basically low quality cheap flash games, but the competition factor of online gaming is there, and thi was my 1st exp in terms of online gaming, if flashy games are these hard i can only imagine the horrible competition i might face in console ones.

It would be frustrating lose, if losing makes you frustrated. I die a lot in Team Fortress 2; my K/D is usually less than 1.0. But I still have immense fun with it, and that is all that matters. What I think really matters is that core gameplay is fun, not whether you are good at it or not. That is secondary; you can be good at a game which may make you feel better, but being good at a game itself doesn't instantly gratify satisfaction, when the core gameplay is a mess. So yeah, try to enjoy the moment, not the result. Also facebook games?

unbelievable then ps3 must be really great, and that means online gaming is defaulted into next gen then.

It was pretty much a default this generation too.

You obviously already have internet. So apart from paying for the console and said game as well as for your connection, in case of the PS3 Online Gaming IS free ;) Furthermore there are very few "Online Only" titleson consoles, Single Player Campaigns often come along with them.

And yes, it can be very frustrating, but when you get the hang of it and are the saviout of your team or make that one decisive action that turns the whole match it's way more satisfying and awesome than any single player experience. Well, ok, maybe not "more awesome" but a very special kind of very rewarding feeling you won't get from offline components.

well a few days of rather limited online playing at facebook has made me a better player already at that particular game, i assume online gaming really must be a great way to hone one's gaming skill.
