It seems random sometimes which games get attention and not. It's certainly not always linked to quality. As a part of Sarepta studio I just released a game on Steam last week, but we're having trouble getting the word out to people.

So I wanted to ask: How do you hear and learn about new games?

I hear about most of the games I'm interested in from the internet and magazines.

Cool. Can I ask if there are any particular sites or magazines?
I usually go to Gamespot or Gametrailers first, but I'm sure there are many other equally good sites out there.

For console games I just create a q on gamefly and update it monthly with new releases.

On steam, I just check the new releases, specifically the indie section. It is very easy to get lost on the digital distribution venue, one thing you could consider is to put your game on sale, personally I check the slaes every day and that's the main way I expand my wishlist on steam, even just putting it up for a small discount will probably cause a lot of people to stumble on it that may have glanced over it otherwise.

I keep up with GS and IGN to discover new titles. That's mainly it.

i only come here to gamespot to read those bad reviews and rant about them or log into the forum and get myself into flamewars with 12 year old trolls

if i want to get the latest news then there is a german site (since i speak german, but i am no kraut, i am austrian) and there i can find the latest news regarding every kind of game releases, reviews and future releases and rumours etc.etc. all about the gaming industry, that site is really fantastic since its really updated every minute with every kind of news from the gaming industry

any german related people in here who want the site then pm me, not sure if i am allowed to post other adresses like that....since i never read any forum rules

Haha, I've got an Austrian friend. Best way to get on her bad side is calling her German. ;-)

I check this website mostly, but my backlog is continuously growing, so I'm not really actively looking for new titles. I always check the sales list on Steam, but that's about it.

Here, Steam, and the occasional Google search for "best <platform> <genre> games <year>".

Ive in the last couple of years just taken to metacritic for looking for games. Has just about everything out there and all rated by sites or users so from there you cna find just about anything even hidden gems.
