Halo, Destiny composer Martin O'Donnell fired by Bungie

So here's a question of mine - I wonder why? He apparently claims that Bungie's board of directors fired him without cause, but there's got to be more to the story, right?

In any case, it looks like we won't be hearing any more memorable themes or songs out of the guy anymore...at least on Bungie's games, that is!

I hope 343i picks him up for next Halo .

Given how famous Halo's soundtracks are, the guy won't be unemployed for long.

I doubt this will hurt Halo's soundtrack. There are a lot of talented musicians floating around nowadays and since games now have digital sound, game music creation isn't quite as specialized as it used to be. For my money, the champion of the bips and boops era was Yuzo Koshiro though some people familiar with the work of Tommy Tallerico would no doubt disagree.

Well, it won't hurt Halo's soundtrack since Martin didn't do Halo 4.

This is still a bummer though. While Halo 4's music wasn't terrible, it wasn't anywhere near as memorable as the original trilogy. The little snippets we had from Destiny were already much more interesting, so hopefully his leaving doesn't alter that game's soundtrack too much. I was looking forward to his music in Destiny.

Martin O'Donnell composes good music. I have no doubt that he can find a job elsewhere in the video game industry if he chooses to. Being fired for no reason seems strange. Hopefully, it is not as awkward as David Hayter's treatment regarding his voicing Snake in Metal Gear Solid V (or the lack thereof).

Good for him, maybe now he'll be able to once again broaden his horizons.

thought I really liked Halo 4's Music .

He may have finished Destiny's audio and they didn't want to pay him anymore.

I liked Halo 1, 2 and 3 soundtracks, i didn't really like the others as much, but you can't hit gold every time. Hope he gets to make more game music cause hes really good.
