There is probably a topic around here for this but regardless this is shaping up to be a proper RPG. Missed my chance to pledge for this, hopefully it comes back on, this is far superior than any streamlined crappy modern 'RPG' such as any new Bethesda title like Oblivion, Skyrim and that complete pile of trash called Fallout 3 which aren't even RPG's in any case. With over 600 hours of gameplay, crafted over 18 years by a man who moved to Australia after the LA riots, now lives in a bunker and claims to be a neanderthal plus this is literally the best sales pitch!!

Please expand on your opening post and not be so confrontational with your discussion. It is fine to not like Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout, etc, but please give reasons why you like the new game or why you are comparing the new game to the Bethesda titles.

Thanks.

Great, an elitist RPG gamer who shits on anything that's not exactly like "the old days"

Its like the only reason you come to these forums is to be sarcastic.

Something like Might And Magic X or Legend Of Grimrock and indeed Divinity use elements from old school games while updating many aspects, especially the graphics.

This game kinda just looks old.

@uninspiredcup: I guess you missed the part where he said the game has been in the making for 18 years. It looks (and plays) similar to Wizardry 7, which is great. Did you see the amount of content ? (when he starts going through the maps)

How about a game like Shovel Knight ? It looks just like a SNES game and ppl seem to love it.

I thought you were somewhat of a hardcore RPG fan Cup ? You're gonna dismiss a possible true Wiz 7 successor because it 'looks old' ? Hmm...

Swen's a smart guy though. He knows to expand the base and get some modern gamers to try it, he's gotta lure them in with pretty graphics too.

And not all the 'aspects' they update are for the better, btw. Take M&M X for example, the overworld design and linearity of the main quest is very much a step back from past M&M games.

This Hgame kinda just looks old.

This tends to happen when the game is in development for over 17 years :D
