Ok, this is most frequent on the PC, but it may as well happen on the console systems. Did you ever own a (commercial) game that none of your friends even knew existed?

A few titles:

Kreed (PC)

Horde 2 (PC) (unrelated to 'The Horde', by Crystal Dynamics)

Sabotain (PC)

My friends only know and play mainstream games--madden, halo, gears, etc.
Generally speaking, Drill Dozer, Grabbed by the Ghoulies (awesome game), Indigo Prophecy, Scrapland, Raze's Hell, Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Cause.

I've heard of all of those except Scrapland.

Not many people on GameSpot seem to own Rave Master, but I do. Not sure about some of my other games. If anyone wants to look through my collection and name some, that's cool.

Ok, but to non gamers or casual gamers, they wouldnt know a single one of those.Edit: I knew 95% of the games in your collection (not including pc since I'm not a pc gamer). You had some pretty damn obscure ps2 games listed.

Kreed (PC)

Black_Knight_00

Heh....I remember Kreed, I always wondered if that got released.

I remember back in 2002 there was an article in a couple of gaming magazines about it possibly being the first of the next-gen engines since at the time Doom III was the big talked about upcoming game....then Kreed kinda fell into obscurity.

Anyway....Sanitarium for PC.

Flashback is top quality gaming, just like Out of this World before it.

Robnyc22

Yes, it was released. Even though, because of a controversy between Russobit and ID software (apparently for some stolen textures), it's only available in europe. In case you wondered it was bad, oh bad (badly calibrated difficulty, boring and frustrating gameplay, abysmal sound, laughable controls interface that forced you to manually notepad a .cfg file to regulate mouse speed). Yet, since I paid about $6 for it, I forced myself into beating it (ykes).

Gunstar Super Heroes (GBA)

Astro Boy Omega Factor (GBA)

God Hand (PS2)

Boktai (GBA)

and probably a couple others.

Tales of Symphonia is the most glaring one I can think of. :|

I don't really have any "hardcore" gamer friends though, so they don't know about a lot of my games. I find that in general, hardcore gamers aren't that fun to hang around. Sorry guys. :P

The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall (PC)was a big one, although now all my friends know about it because I won't shut up :P

Tactics Ogre: A Knight of Lodis(GBA)is quite obscure as well

The Terminator: Future Shock (PC) is quite obscure to anyone that isn't a Terminator fan

Strife (PC) is just obscure

Nobody outside of NA and Japan know about Brainlord (SNES) unless they're a collector

CyberMage(PC) is quite rare due to poor sales (monster PC requirements or the time)

Has anyone heard of or played a game called "Age of Pirates?" I picked it up for only $10 bucks, but I bet nobody knows what this is.

Also, I think a game called "Empires: Dawn of the Modern World" is another game not many people know about.

Oh, that's a good one. I picked that up a while back with a few other things for only a dollar. It's really good.

Probably The Red Star. A sadly overlooked top-down beat-em-up/shooter hybrid on the PS2. Great multiplayer fun.

Mine are from a myriad of systems...most of them ol (ie NES), so here goes:

Kickle Cubicle (NES) - Great little puzzle game, surprisingly challenging at parts, and way more entertaining than a game about a little guy who pushes around ice cubes should be.

Crystalis (NES) - Okay, so more people have heard of this one, but I still feel that it's a somewhat forgotten action-RPG for the NES.

Paladin's Quest (SNES) - Fairly mediocre RPG for the Super Nintendo. Biggest oddity - You use your HP to cast spells, making magic a very costly endeavor.

Master of Magic (PC) - Great fantasy town-building strategy game...too bad it's almost impossible to find these days.

Crystal Skull (PC) - Really bad...I kinda wish I didn't own this.
