Which of the latest FS games have the more realistic scenery?
From videos I have watched they are all poor, on a par with those released 16 years ago.

@jun_aka_pekto: Thank you for the pics. They look fine from flight level. All the built up areas I have seen seem to have "match box" buildings, everything too artificial, especially from close up. Are all the shots from Aerofly FS?

The post with three screenshots are from Aerofly FS. The F-18 image was taken much earlier at medium settings while the other two were taken with details maxed out.
The second post have two images taken from IL-2: Cliffs of Dover with the Team Fusion mod.
The last FS game I played was Microsoft FS 2002. Presumably Aerofly 2 would be a vast improvement. I hope so as I have just ordered the game.
There are plenty of VFR terrain mods for FSX but they cost more than the actual game and require a lot of VRAM.
FSX steam edition: Despite the improvements over the non steam version, its still unoptimised. Stock scenery is not very good, and addons are a given for proper terrain. If you are lucky you might find freeware scenery that fits the bill.
X-plane: Though it generally seems to have better terrain, its still dependent on addons
Aerofly FS 1: It only features switcherland but it has highly detailed scenery
Aerofly FS 2: It deputed in mobile but Aerofly has ported it to PC on steam, as early access, presumably to bring functionality to PC standarts. Game is still complete. Though it features more locales than the first one, its far from world wide. I suggest you look it up to see what locations are available.

Because 99% you're miles in the air. It's a pointless waste of resources.

Nothing can match the weather/cloud engine MS built in to the FS games.
