Curious to see what was the first video game controller you have ever used, or your favorite controller overall.
First one i have ever used was the snes controller with light purple and dark purple buttons.

Well considering that my first gaming system was the Atari 2600 then the first controller I used was that one. As for which controller is my favourite I would have to say that it's the Xbox One controller. It's perfectly contoured, perfectly weighted, and I like the positioning of the analog sticks.
First controller I ever used was the SNES one. My favorite so far is the PS4 controller. The grips are comfy, the buttons are solid, and it doesn't make my palms sweat too much for some reason.
The first one I used was the intellivision controller, and I have the blisters to prove it (not really). Not counting KB+mouse, my favorite controller is the Saturn model II gamepad.
First controller I ever used would have been the Sega Master System controller... as for my favourite, I still think the Gamecube controller is pretty cool. But in terms of sheer comfortableness, have to go with Xbone controller.
First controller I ever used was a PS1 controller, since that was my first console. But my favorite one would be the Gamecube controller....that thing was pretty damn nice, unlike its predecessor the N64 controller.
@Byshop: Meanwhile Intellivision had how many buttons ? 16...plus the sweet overlays ! And the disc was 16 directions too.
Very first? That was in the late 70's on a trip to my aunt's and uncle's home. They had one of the original 70's marketed consoles that played one game and one game only...Pong. had a simple controller with a turn knob on it. I couldn't tell you the name of that gaming console since it was the first and last time I ever touched it. About three years later (1981?...) we ended up buying our first system, the Atari 2600. Had gaming systems off and on ever since. Had to fight my mother for play time on them too. Today at age 77, she now plays games on her iPad.

same for me too.
First was a NES controller for SMB/DH. Favourite is between Gamecube/360 with SNES a very close 3nd.
First controllor was the Atari 2600 joystick. Or was the pong controller first? I guess it must have been, yes? Anyway, we had pong and the 2600. My favorite I think has to be the Wii controller with the nunchuck. For some reason I really liked it for driving and for regular gameplay, like in Metroid Corruption.
First pad I ever used was a SNES pad. My favorite is the 360 pad (wired, no bulky battery pack).
Ergonomically the best is the Gamecube pad but it's dated input wise.
First controller I ever used was this:
From playing an nes at a friends house, followed by this:
Which belonged to the first console I ever had.
Must have been the 1981 Adman Grandstand controller. It was basically just an analog Pong controller.
