Poll Did anyone ever save you know who in Heavy Rain? (11 votes)

Yes, I have the secrets to save him! And I will let you know! 73%
No, I failed miserably.. 18%
That game was too lame for me...I prefer to shoot peoples faces off.. 0%
What's Heavy Rain? Is there a storm coming? 0%
Hi.. 9%
So I played Heavy Rain and I didn't save Shaun..Yeah I know, how lame! Anyway I'm playing it again to see if I can save him this time, I'm hoping I can..But I don't know how to get to the place he's at..So any help would be awesome! And lame answers will be shunned! Also did anyone laugh as much as I did when Madison says "Time to play the sexy girl".

what do you mean you didn't save shaun ? The scenarios for saving him far outnumber the ones for killing him off. Anyway, I strongly reccomend against playing Heavy Rain more than once. Its multiple choices and consequinces are not designed for replay value.

@Lulu_Lulu: I mean I wasn't able to save him the first time. And yes I know everyone says don't play it more then once. But with so many choices and 22 different endings this game deserves more then one play!

Yeah I saved him. There really isn't a secret to it other than not screwing up the QTEs during his rescue.

There are things that can get him killed that predate the actual rescue !

Shaun can only drown in the warehouse. Unless you straight up murder the other characters and simply don't find him, that's the only way you'll ever witness him die.

What? why would anyone suggest not to replay it? or were you being ironic?

But there are at least 3 major endings and then 18 variations on that if i recall correct, so of course you should replay the game but only if you care about seeing those ending.

Anyways yep i saved all that could be saved and got the good ending.

Definately don't replay it. This is not a game with a right or a wrong ending, its about crafting your own unique story, replaying it out of curiosity undermines that story, not to mention that some of the illusions will get shattered !

@Lulu_Lulu: I payed for the game, one playthrough doesn't justify my $60..I'll play it 100 times if I wish :D

@IndianaPwns39: I messed a few QTE up, but not enough to justify getting the ending where Shaun dies and the dad shoots himself. I am halfway through the game on the second go around and I've made sure not to miss any of them. So far I am doing better.

Actually to my surprise, I managed to save everybody on my first attempt and get the "best" ending (?).

I did that too. Its the most boring ending. Things get more interesting when things go wrong.

To late i have replayed it and gotten all the endings.

But it didn´t take anything away from me, i still think its a excellent game and the story was ok.

I must be a easy guy to please, because didn´t think it was awful, it had a well known and well used premise which it did right by the book.

Could it have been better, Sure and i have to agree with Alex and Patrick that Cage really needs an editor or someone who can help him a bit.

But for what it was i enjoyed the game and i played it to the end in 2 sittings , which i rarely do with games, most take me weeks to complete.

for me all was good untill that god awfull unforseen plotwist, my brother likes to pretend he saw it coming but he's full of sh!t and he knows it and then theres Madison's terrible start in the story, she didn't fit in properly until half way through. Didn't deter from my enjoyment though. Infact I love bad writing, I turn it into a game of "spot the plot".

@Jacanuk: I agree, the story was good. I didn't see anything bad about it. It was a very interesting game, it's like the old Choose Your Adventure books they had years ago. Your decisions make the story, every choice you make gives a different experience. I may play it again and do everything differently and see what the outcome is.

Yep, it was like those books which i loved as kid. The great thing about heavy rain was that most i talked to who also bought it didn´t have the same experience, because we all didn´t something different, so it was a different experience and ending for most of us.

You mean the orgami killer? hmm, for what it was it wasn't a bad choice and didn't see it coming, but ya it was kinda a easy way out in some sense.

@Rydia241- Now that you know what happens it should be much easier to rescue Shaun in time before he drowns.

@Lulu_Lulu - Ok but that isn't what I'm talking about. Shaun can only die in the Warehouse.

I got beyond two souls at release and its a good game but its not Heavy Rain.

But my opinion might be clouded by the fact i think Page is a terrible actress and her head is to full of herself, shown by she thought that the girl in Tlou was a look alike and her insane notion that a nude 3d animation is anything like her and now she is suing.

Beyond is definately no heavy Rain, but damn was it good ! I thought it was good but what really sealed the deal for me was "The Condenser" chapter, it was even more effective than dead space. But yeah, its a whole different animal and most likely wont attract the exact same crowd, the "Life" epilogue didn't make a shred of sense to me though.

Plot twists like that undo everything the game worked so hard to achieve, not to mention they tried to pass off one of the other characters as a red herring to make the plot more twisty ! Same goes for movies like Dark Night Rises, and TV Shows like, uhm...... What was that show again, there was an Island, superpowers, monsters, crazy cult....... I can't remember its name, it Appears its "lost" forever.

I saved Shaun, and everyone lived during my first playthrough. You just have to have one surviving person go to the docks...

Also, Beyond Two Souls stinks. No where near as good as Heavy Rain.

I voted yes but given you're on an internet forum I'm guessing you can search for a walkthrough and see how to do it from there.

In fact allow me here

Hope that helps.
