As in...for how many years did they keep getting games officially? Been wondering what console has had the longest run.

I know that the Playstation kept getting games until 2003, so that's 8 years. The Playstation 2 and Xbox were released in around 2001, I think? The PS2 was still getting games in 2008, but I don't recall any 2009 titles, so that's 7 years for PS2 maybe. And 3 or 4 years for Xbox, because Microsoft killed it off fast when the 360 was released. As for PS3 and X360...9 years for PS3, 10 years for X360 and counting for both. I think they still have games coming even in 2015. Things seem different nowadays. Generations seem more connected.

Anyway, discuss!

I think there are a couple NES games in production currently (they might be SNES games, but I don't recall exactly). But they aren't coming from Nintendo, mind you.

And I know the Dreamcast still has a fairly big fan development community.

Yeah, this'll be the longest lasting officially supported generation.

Besides that, Ps2 and Ps1.

I did remember that both MS/Sony stated that they are looking at a 10 year lifespan for there consoles but hey, that's fine by mean. Didn't we learn that these consoles [last-gen also] are now overstaying there welcome?

As others said, I'm pretty sure PS2 would take that crown given the rules you gave for what counts. PS2 was released in 2000, btw
