You should try the first 3 tmnt games on the nes. The first one is hard. And not like the arcade ones. I didn't like the fighting one very much. And tmnt 4 on the super nes is another great game.

Turtles in Time hands down (Granted the only other turtles game I played was the tournament fighter on the snes, but time was still really good).

TMNT 2: The Arcade Game on the NES....some of my favorite gaming memories stemmed from me and my friends trying to beat it without the game genie or codes....never played Turtles in Time like a lot of others have though

i totally agree. even though the arcade version was way better and u can download it on Xboxlive now, i still prefer the NES version. I remember it was one of the first games that i beat. and i think i didnt cheat either.

I was thinking of buying TMNT II The Arcade Game for NES and Turtles In Time for SNES but I was also wondering how TMNT III The Manhattan Project for NES was.

TMNT the arcade game... not any lame ports or console versions of the game. I am talking about the actual cabinet machine with 2 buttons and joysticks, 4 players, in an actual arcade.

I've got to go with the arcade game. No TMNT game comes CLOSE to that one. Turtles in Time isn't bad by any stretch (probably my second-favorite TMNT game), but the arcade game was just so many lightyears ahead of it in terms of quality anf fun that...

(*Tears up at the memories*)

Don't play the first ninja turtles game, it's crap. Anyhow, my favorite would be TMNT 3: The Manhattan Project

For the NES, I would go with TMNT3. The turtles are more varied, since they have their own specials (with Mike having the best one, IMO). On the SNES, Tournament Fighters is the best game. It's actually a good fighting game, back when everyone was trying to copy Street Fighter 2. And once again, Mike has the best super attack. :)

Well, TMNT 3 is a good game, just to many cheap shots... it just doesn't feel completely finished. TMNT was a good game, just misunderstood! It may be kinda hard to play through the first time, but then it gets ridiculousy easy after that! Tournament Fighters is also pretty good, but listening to Mike say Eat Feet about 600 times a match gets really annoying!!! I think that Raphael is the best in the game, he has the whole Cinder spin cheap shot like in Killer Instinct! Still though, if you want pure fun stick to TMNT 2! Turtles in Time is very close second, Slash is awesome!

I think it's hands down tmnt3. The bosses were more varied and nostalgic of the classic tmnt cartoon most of us were addicted to as kids. Honestly the only advantage I think turtles in time had on tmnt3.was graphics. It also takes longer to beat tmnt3 and it was nes rather than snes like 4

Turtles in Time and Hyperstone Heist are both good games. It's been a long time, but if I remember correctly Turtles in Time is 4 players, while Heist is only 2. For that reason gotta go with TiT.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game

http://www.arcade-museum.com/images/118/1181242182141.jpg

Specifically the 4-player version seen here.

Back in the day, this was THE game at the arcade. Kids would be lined up to play it. And it was sooooo much fun to play through it with 3 friends. It was at our local Roller Skating Ring, where our grade-school would take field trips somewhat regularly as incentive to earn Student of the Week, Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, etc. I was usually on Honor Roll until high school when I started slacking off, so I always got to go and this game was my #1 priority when I went. So many wasted quarters and destroyed Foot Soldiers.

the SNES version was 2 player only with that said, the SNES is still the better version as you can't throw enemies onto the screen in the genesis version. the graphics and sound are also better on the SNES

That was my first reason that I loved going to Chuckie Cheese's when I was later. Second was the Star Wars arcade game.
